#TodayInHistory: March 2, 1964 – Speaking before the Dumaguete Rotary and Lions club members, the then Senate President Ferdinand Marcos announced he is seeking the Presidency. He was one of the legislators who had introduced a number of significant bills, many of which were published in the Republic statute books. Marcos ran for President in the 1965 elections and won against former party mate, Diosdado Macapagal.
