Joe McElderry’s latest deception of his fellow gays is depressingly cynical: in a ‘private interview’ with @jamietabberer from @GayTimesMag at Joe’s album launch*, Joe puts on a ‘sweet boy’ image by pretending he doesn’t know what a French kiss is:
‘Lastly, we took it upon ourselves to inform the man of the hour of fellow X Factor champ Shayne Ward's naughty Joe-related confession of last year: in his December 2010 GT cover interview Shayne admitted: "I would French kiss Joe he's a lovely lad." Joe's response? "[Looking genuinely perplexed] What's a French kiss?!" HOW adorable?’
No, not adorable, just utterly deceitful and for proof we need look no further than Gay Times’ own pages, for in their December 2010 issue on page 48, Darren Scott interviews Joe, tells him Shayne Ward said Joe is ‘lovely’ then reports Joe’s reaction to exactly the same quote from Shayne:
‘...I pluck up the courage to pass on something else Shayne said. That he would French Kiss Joe. “He would what? Really? Oh well... Tell him that I said thank you.” I laugh and note that this is quite a polite reaction. “What would you like me to say?” [Joe] asks cheekily before shouting in mock horror “OH MY...GAWD!” and then bursting out laughing. Ooh the scamp’s played me at my own game. I joke that I wouldn’t mind if Shayne Ward said that to me. Joe laughs again. “I’ll send ‘im your way then!”’
Is that really the reaction of someone who doesn’t know what ‘french kiss’ means? And even if you’re not convinced, do you really think Joe would not have found out what Shayne Ward would like to do him in the 7 months since that interview?
No, this is clearly another example of how Joe McElderry shamelessly manipulates and deceives his gay fans, in an attempt to grab their money for his music. The false image of the ‘sweet and adorable’ (and of course unattached) boy is one Joe will no doubt have worked closely with his PR team to put across. And it works well - @jamietabberer is obviously taken in by it and comes up with the goods, putting Joe across as a desirable gay icon:
What's also massively refreshing, for us, is to hear Joe talk openly and comfortably about his sexuality ‘It's nice, because I meet lots of people and they come up to us and go 'I came out after reading your story in the press, you're an inspiration'. I just think 'wow'. To know that it's helped people is special for me. I'm honored.’
Here we have Joe at his most callous, preying on young gay fans, trying to convert them and like all fraudsters, hoping that they will forget the past – just as in July 2010 Joe came out, pretending to be honest about doing so, while hoping that fans would forget that 7 months before, he swore blind he was straight. The whole story of that scam is told here: http://t.co/xPZ6KRS
So no Joe, your potential victims may have short memories but luckily @joecomments is here to remind them just what a conman you are.
