Memo to Mr President
@fatushow @fatunetwork @adama_barrow #Gambia Mr. President, your economic plan for the 3rd republic, though needs to be private sector-led to attract badly needed private investment, and Gambian-diaspora investment (to separate the two) - it, however - need succinct public policy guidance from government, and a strong resurgent role of the strategic entrepreneurial State institutions: Gamtel, GPA, NAWEC, GCAA, SSHFC - to provide the limited, but necessary, public investment, and risk capital required - to jump-start certain sectors of the economy, example, river transportation. Hence, I would recommend, Mr. President, that you put these strategic public enterprises under a new performance contract dispensation, with appropriate rewards and sanctions - in order to create the conducive business-friendly environment for their performance.
