I can only hope somehow this reaches you… if it does please hear this message out – genuinely it is about more than me or you.
Ok so you didn’t win the F1 championship. Let’s be honest, how hard did you really try? You’re an F1 driver/Rockstar living the dream anyway… 3 titles already under the belt…always next year ey? Nico’s retired now and all – not that that makes a real difference. I know the loss would have hurt, but you won’t show it or let yourself dwell on it either – your too cool for that, right?
Not probably the best thing to say or admit here, but I wanted Nico to win (and I am British). Yes, you probably are right, it was probably because I am jealous of your life and job, and didn’t want to see you have it all… I had found myself hating on you - “this guy thinks he’s bigger than life, he’s an F1 driver with the best car and doesn’t even want it that bad… partying/catwalks etc… “
It was then I realized and thought about what I was saying… I profess to myself all the time to be the best… but who am I to talk, how can I preach on this guy, when I also work in a fast paced environment, work my arse off, but also love to party! But never a day goes by, where I don’t genuinely not appreciate of where I am now and how I got here…. And in all honesty, I am sure you are the same - I just don’t know you, and judged like a hater – and for that I apologise.
I’m sure like yourself, I like to keep fit, live life on the edge, work in a fast paced environment and party….but also I never forget how fortunate I am compared to some who unfortunately aren’t as lucky, but still have the most inspirational attitudes towards life – and this spurred me on to join the London Marathon for 2017, where I am running for VICTA – a group that supports for children and young people who are blind or partially sighted. They are an inspiration and also makes me realize even more what I have and appreciate every element that we all so often take for granted.
Now the reason for this message is that although I know this will never probably reach you, but if it did, I had a thought. I wanted to offer the idea to join me; train together, and make it a race to see who can finish the marathon in a quicker time. Not only did I think this would bring amazing awareness with your stature and following, but also give me the satisfaction of just knowing I could beat you ;) I know you are an F1 driver and will have many other commitments, but if something came out of this for the aid and help of others (i.e. VICTA ) it would be ever more so rewarding. I thought the idea would be something that could be quite entertaining for all, while very beneficial for those who need it the most.
Lewis, although I don’t want to admit or believe it – I’m sure you are a good guy. If I never hear back, either way have a great 2017, Merry Christmas.
