Remembering the pious presence of my Gurudev and the lovely sylvan surroundings of Himalayas - on this special day when I was initiated into Sanyas Ashram by my Poojya Gurudev Brahmaleen Swami Chinmayanandaji at Sidhbari in 1988. Today is my 29th Sanyas Deeksha day.
* GST will make India's exports more competitive and provide level-playing field to domestic industry to compete with imports.
* The new tax system will act as a major boost to economic efficiency, tax compliance and domestic and foreign investment.
* GST is a disruptive change; however positive it may be, there are bound to be some teething troubles and difficulties.
Atharva Veda is also known as the Veda of 'magical formulas' and has made mathematics simpler. The binary system used in all modern computers and computer-based devices originated in the Atharvaveda. It also has the concept of `Zero'. Calculations that took hours were possible in just a few minutes with the help vedic mathematics - said Swami Nischalananada, the Shankaracharya of Govardhana Matha in Puri, Odisha
Passing on the blame buck to others is never the answer. I think managing the affairs of the country is a cooperative exercise. One needs to do the best what is mandated to them, and also cooperate with those who have been mandated to do the rest. That alone can be the system of governance in any system requiring specialized & focussed attention.
Justice Chelameswar was the lone voice of dissent against the 'judges-selecting-judges' collegium system. He opines that the govt and members of civil society too must have a say in it. He said there was an urgent need for comprehensive reform in the system and lamented that the Supreme Court did not approve the NJAC, which was a step in that direction.
"Transparency is an aspect of rationality. Proceedings of the collegium were absolutely opaque. The records are absolutely beyond the reach of any person including the judges of this court who are not lucky enough to become CJI. Such a state of affairs does not either enhance the credibility of the institution nor is good for the people of this country," Justice Chelameswar said.
Greetings to all on the auspicious occasion of 'Ganesh Chaturthi'.
- निर्विघ्नं कुरु में देव सर्व कार्येषु सर्वदा - is a common and also an interesting prayer of Ganeshji. It's meaning changes depending on how you interpret it.
- It is basically a prayer for a life full of excitement & liveliness.
- It doesn't request God to bless us with a life free from problems - that is the understanding of the weak & ignorant; the wise on the other hand just imply that 'O Deva ! May I become so wise & strong that for me the so called problem is no problems'. Obstacles are challenges, and they give meaning, purpose & excitement to an otherwise dull & dragging life.
Isolate Sonia-Rahul. It is time the Government isolated the Congress’s petulant Leadership by negotiating Parliament impasse directly with Congress CMs and state level leaders who directly stand to lose because of Sonia’s petulance and Rahul’s tantrums.
Today (23rd April 2015) is the jayanti of one of the greatest non-dualist teachers of the world - 'Bhagwan Bhashyakara Bhagawatpada Sri Adi Sankaracharya'. Born around 2500 BC he very effectively & strongly brought out the message of the Upanishads that 'everyone' is basically complete, limitless & divine. The changing world itself reveals that it is not the real truth, but is rather an effect of some other fundamental cause - and that cause is basically our reality. That Thou Art, thunder the Upanishad. Life of endless seeking is based on ignorance alone, and that is why it is endless. Let us wake up to our truth and the truth of everyone, and live as fulfilled, magnanimous & blissful beings. He single-handedly unified the whole country and brought about the cultural & spiritual unity - embracing one & all with his wisdom & love.
On this day we salute the great teacher and pray for his blessings to help us all wake up to the amazing & redeeming revelations he made. May all be happy & live an enlightened life. Namo Namah!
Offence under #66A was bailable. Police used other IPC sections for arrests. So better excersie self-restraint & go for constructive criticism. Dignified looks more serious too.
Sreya Singhal, a 5th generation lawyer in the family (still studying law), who challenged the Sec 66A of the IT Act, and which the SC scrapped as unconstitutional, has unleased an air of freedom & relief in the social world.
She however cautions against taking this as a free pass for posting hate speech or defamatory comments. "There are other provisions in the IT Act, and also in the IPC that deal with unlawful content," says the law student.
Rupert Spira very nicely explains that NOW is not a moment in Time, & HERE is not a place in Space. In relation to Space we call Consciousness HERE, and in relation to Time we call Consciousness as NOW. Now 'is' eternal Consciousness, and Here 'is' infinite Consciousness. http://youtu.be/VoU_bjtst7c
Janata is never wrong. Apparently #BJP needed a shock - and AK & #AAP gave it to them very nicely indeed in todays #DelhiElections. Politics is all about service, and they were becoming too arrogant & also complacent. In the recent Nagar Nigam elections in Indore the BJP candidate was so over-confident, that she did not care even to meet the voters even once. Modiji cannot bring any miracle if this is the attitude of the ground level workers. Hope they buckle up and show some real passion for service - in a humble way. Voters are driving the change. They know their powers that they are the real masters. Good, whatever has happened has happened for the good of all, including the political fraternity.
Congrats & Best Wishes to AAP & AK. They have a golden chance to prove a point.

"We used to think dying was black-and white, 'bang-bang, you're dead'," but the study discovered that actually "Dying is a huge gray area. It is actually a gradual process that plays out over hours." says Dr. Stephan Mayer to The Huffington Post in their article 'Scientists Say 'Life After Death' May Be Possible'. http://huff.to/1EtZlv4
