@ghostyhead @pepsmccrea @Keith_Turvey @daviesaj - yes - the terms of the debate are all wrong! media referring to fee increase to £9,000 and only 18 minute increase in contact time but contact time is not a measure of value in learning terms!! How do I compare the value of 5 hours of lecture in a lecture theatre with 200 other students vs 1 hour 1:1 or small group tutorial? How do we value online contact?
In any case universities have not seen their income increase (and if anything decrease asnot keeping up with inflation) just the source of the income shifting from taxpayers to individual students so why would we expect increase in value?
