@MagicJohnson, @James_Worthy42, @kobebryant, @JeanieBuss, @paugasol, doesn't it make sense for the @Lakers to hire @PhilJackson11 in a role similar to Jerry West where he helps build and maintain that championships culture (maybe with Brian Shaw as the long term coach)? The @Lakers had this culture. The Spurs have had this culture and 20 years of stability with it. Winning isn't just about putting talented players on the floor. This isn't an indictment of the job Mitch has done. I think he's great - one of the best at his job.
@jaadande @stephenasmith @BillSimmons @JRudolphSports @FrankNobiloGC @CBSSportsNet The outcry against @TigerWoods is ludicrous. It is an attack on the integrity of the game and the spirit of competition. I keep hearing about "protecting the field". They gave him an 8. How much more protection does the field need? If this was John Cook & he was DQ'd, other players would be saying the penalty is too harsh. But Tiger is treated differently because he is Tiger. Where is the equitable treatment from the players? The rules committee operated within the existing rule that was designed to be more equitable BECAUSE IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. Don't punish Tiger because of an archaic rule that was replaced with something that is more in the true spirit of sport. Let the punishment fit the crime. It does. The purpose of instant replay is to get the call right. And in this case, the rules committee did. To suggest otherwise is an insult to the integrity of sports. Period.
