Acceptance has been the keyword of my life this almost-ending year and thanks to those 14 main figures who have taught me so. Kata pepatah, kita tidak bisa menyenangkan semua orang. Sama halnya, tidak semua orang bisa membuat kita senang.

Kenyataannya, menerima hal yang tidak sesuai dengan harapan itu sulit. Lebih sulit lagi jika prosesnya melibatkan orang lain. Akan jauh lebih sulit lagi ketika itu dipaksakan. Sebab, keterpaksaan untuk menerima hanya akan menambah penderitaan yang sudah lebih dulu ada. Terimalah kalau memang bisa menerima. Just embrace it, no but. Jangan dengan terpaksa. Dua hal itu (penerimaan dan paksaan) tak bisa berjalan beriringan.

Accepting that you are unwanted, rejected, failed, beaten, abandoned, etc—even if the reason behind such things is just because of being yourself, being too good—is not the same as getting over it. Bukan ‘udah lupain aja’. Whatever is happening is happening; whatever occurred already occurred. As a lifelong process, you can approach your method to accept differently, as well as with different results.

Setahun ini aku belajar tentang kesadaran (consciousness: the state of being awake and aware of my surroundings; anything). Apa yang terjadi, apa yang membuatnya terjadi? Bukan semata-mata what is happening, what has occurred. Namun, why like that and why not like this. Not what, but why. There is a wisdom in the difference between the two, the hidden message. That is what I have been praying for: to able to know the silver lining between my expectation and the reality. Only by being conscious I can accept it, embracing it beyond unseen. Mengambil hikmah.
