Mr. Ali Amjad, Senior Officer, Electricity and Water Conservation Department, Government of Dubai visited our school to conduct a short seminar to raise conservation awareness among students of grade 7 and 8 on 27th January 2016.
Mr. Ali expressed his concern of how UAE uses double the amount of water and electricity as compared to other neighboring GCC countries and shared various initiatives by DEWA to address this issue like Neighborhood campaign, Every drop matters campaign, Do good to planet earth campaign and many more.
Students pledged to join their hands with DEWA and make these campaigns successful from their end.
The student conservation team of NMS from grade 7 comprising Ms. Mridula, Ms. Dharitri, Ms. Nakshatra, Ms. Shazia and Ms. Michelle spoke to Mr. Ali regarding their ideas and plans.
They are all geared up now to lead NMS towards the direction of conservation by urging students to switch off lights when not in use.
It was a delight to witness our students embark on their journey to make a valuable difference to the environment.
