We have a dysfunctional political system in #Africa. We run our democracy like a monarchical system. Our officials dictate everything we do. Our political parties have no common ideology that unites them, this makes it hard to know whom to support. Our leaders do not have any moral core apart from their "religious values". Our political debates lack any intellectual capacity. There is no reverence for the constitution and our "judges" are for hire. We can make a difference, we can change the system.

Someone asked me a how can I have #conservative views on marriage and still be a #libertarian. I believe that the government does not marry people, they only officially recognize a marriage. This means that the government has the right to chose the marriages it should recognize and that would be made by the representative of the people in the legislative branch or through a referendum. This also means the government has no right to arrest someone for his/her sexual preference.
My next article concerning #Nigeria will be titled "How big government ruined Nigeria and why the government expansion is not the answer " will be out soon. http://eddyspolitics.blogspot.com.ng/2016/08/why-i-am-libertarian-conservative.html

I Chuma Pai'pah Achike, a poor man is vehemently against welfare. I believe the rich should not pick up my tabs. I believe in meritocracy. I believe in survival of the fittest. Sorry if what I said triggered you. I'm just trying to make #commonsense

I wanted to post an article analyzing what this present government is doing. But after what just happened to Abu Sadiq I'm going to put that article on hold. It's scary now that the #Nigerian government does not tolerate discern from it's citizens. We touched on this on our article "Is #Nigeria a failed state". For #Nigeria to improve, we need a free press that can say whatever they like. If they are wrong they would be proven wrong in the open market of ideas. The government should not actively look for loop holes to attack the press that holds contrary opinion to their's.The very annoying fact is that we can't do anything, we are helpless in this country saying #FreeAbusidiq is more or less showing solidarity to him. Nigeria is, has been, and will be at least in the nearest future, a dictatorship. So here goes nothing #FreeAbuSadiq!!! http://eddyspolitics.blogspot.com.ng/2016/06/is-nigeria-failed-state_20.html

@Indira_L Nope the media were compelled to cover it when it became a huge story online the story had already gotten traction online b4 CNN or MSNBC talked about it. Voter fraud or ballot rigging aren't the only ways to rig an election, when people who are independent pick sides it creates an unfair advantage for one person
I love what Seun Kuti said in his interview with Shara tv. Yes I disagree with him when he tries to justify the police killings. But he gave me a new reason why blacks all over the world are having issues. Let's think of this, when blacks want a spokesperson for a cause the look for celebrities, what do those guys know about such issues? What does Beyonce or Pharrell or even Snoop know about these very serious and technical issues? The truth is that even whites are beginning to do this rubbish but not on the same scale as blacks. No sensible white guy will rate the likes of Noam Chomsky with the likes of Katy Perry. But it's only in the black community where words from Beyonce or Serena Williams carry more weight than the words of Larry Elder.....smh
