"What happens when you leave everything behind to start a new life?” The girl frees herself from a bell and falls ... She leaves her memories and floats to the void. But it's not so bad out there. It's pure and beautiful. There she finds the source of the beginning and decides on her own to go on a quest to discover new places.
The film was made for Emmy’s first year in KASK, school of animation art in Ghent, Belgium. The assignment was to make a short movie about taking a step into the dark. Every frame was draw by hand and colored by computer.

Prelude to a Symphony (in Sweeatch), by Dax Norman, is an experimental animation based upon Dax’s Painting, "Vincent, Mom, and a Frog.”
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Dax Norman began drawing at a young age, and never stopped. Always looking for new ways of creative expression, Dax is a prolific painter and hopes to define what a 21st century artist can be. He currently resides in Austin, Texas, with his wife and daughter. He paints and creates games for IPhone. The animation explores Dax’s unique concept of double image animation, wherein multiple images inhabit the same contours. In the piece, you will see the face of Vincent Van Gogh, a frog, a horse, and personal iconography from the artist’s life.

An alarm clock is encapsulated in a block of ice, suspended by a chain. Originally performed as a sound piece, the melting water drips into a copper vessel , amplified by a contact microphone. The sound created resonates as if in a cave due to the acoustic characteristics of the copper vessel, while the alarm clock - an object from the everyday – is frozen and framed in a ritual where time passes yet stays still.
Kathryn Maguire is a visual artist based in Dublin, Ireland. She has a BA in Fine Art Sculpture and a MA in Art in the Contemporary World. She is a non-medium specific artist her working methodology varies with each project. These medias include glass, bronze, ice, cellotape, public grafitti, photography, text, video, sound and mirror. She has approached themes such as socio-urban history, psychogeography, voyeurism, exhibitionism, intimacy, seduction, loss and belonging.

"Have you ever woke up before your alarm clock turns in? The queen of time is setting our biological clocks to wake up us in the right time. There is cold outside but she just keeps spinning the clocks. This short film has filmed in the beach in the coldest winter in Latvia over 60 years, there was -30 degrees outside when the film was made. I looked outside my kitchen window and understand this is the day when I need to capture my emotions in video format."
Zane is an enthusiastic student in multimedia arts class at the Janis Rozentals art school in Riga, Latvia in the last year.
