The Blurred Web is bringing a new concept to internet gaming. You solve a fictional crime in a blurred fictional/real world using the real world wide web. You will receive a briefing by email and then you are on your own. Track down clues using real and 'real' websites, find locations with Goggle maps and Google earth, trace people using Twitter and Google search. Receive updates by email with information from Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems, forensic examination results, and telephone call data. No user interface, no downloading, no pause button, no save game. Just you, your brain and the internet. Play in real time and see if you are good enough to solve the crime.
Next game begins on 6th July 2015. Register now.

The Blurred Web - a new concept in internet detective games. Blurring fact and fiction, you solve crimes by using the real world wide web.
Taking on the character of an agent for the Serious ad Exceptional Crime Organisation (SECO) you will need to analyse information and hunt for clues by searching real social media accounts, websites, telephone call data, vehicle tracking, Google searches, Google maps and GPS locations.
Each game is played in ‘real time’, and you will receive updates from other agents, surveillance teams, and databases via e-mails from The Controller.
Having a slow day at work … an email arrives saying that the suspect has been located and is now being followed by a SECO surveillance team. You then receive ‘live’ email updates as the team follow the suspect and tell you what they’re doing. How does this fit in with the facts? Is this the right suspect? What are they up to?
You will ‘become’ the character and feel what it is really like to work a case.
This is an ambitious and exciting new way to play. No interface, no limits, you are very much on your own, pitting your wits against the criminals.
Do you have what it takes?
The next game is FREE to PLAY, and has no advertising or hidden purchases.
You will need to register at the website to play. The next game starts on the 6th July 2015.
I am looking for a few volunteers to try out a new game. It is different to many other games in that it is played in real time (over two weeks) and plays within the real worldwide web.
You will play as an Agent working for the Serious and Exceptional Crime Organisation, and will need internet and codebreaking skills to solve the case.
The first game, being launched on 1st June 2015, is FREE to PLAY, and will involve receiving messages from the Controller (via MailChimp), then finding coded messages on social media, breaking the code and then finding the relevant websites which will contain information to help you solve the case. The purpose is to establish who is involved, how and what they are going to do, and where they are going to do it. Further information will be passed to you periodically during the two weeks of play.
I’m afraid there is no interface (so no screenshots), as you will be playing in the real world using Twitter, Facebook, Google searches, Google maps, GPS locations, and real websites. Everything has been created on the web to play this game.
All you need to play is an intellect with internet access.
I would like to invite you to visit our website and register to play the first game. We will be using MailChimp to maintain contact with players. Your details will not be passed to any third parties and will only be used to receive game updates and messages.
If you would like any further information please contact me, otherwise I hope you enjoy the game.
