- While we have never espoused the idea put forward by some extremists that the world is spherical, it must be admitted that at the last election our former leader did mistakenly indicate that there might have been some ovoid qualities to the shape of the world. What has become clear is that many people aspire to the common sense view that the world is flat. So, going forward, it is time to admit our mistakes and acknowledge that the world is indeed completely flat. In fact, as candidate for the leadership I will go further, and offer you my belief in the flattest of all possible worlds. Some of my opponents still retain the remnants of ovoid thinking, but I am in tune with the thinking of the people. A flat world. Embrace it and aspire to it! Only by facing up to this uncomfortable new reality can we regain the trust of the people, and of the mass media which has done so much to convince us all of the world's beautiful and logical flatness.
