#WikiPinoy of the Day: Edilberto Evangelista (b. February 24, 1862 - February 17 1897) was a civil engineer trained in the University of Ghent, Belgium. He returned to the Philippines shortly after the start of the revolution. He was the first Filipino professional to join the ranks of the revolutionaries. He built defenses in Bacoor, Binakayan, Cavite Viejo, Munting-ilog, Silang, Dasmariñas, Imus, Salitran, Lumang-bayan, and Noveleta as protection from the attacks of the Spaniards. He quickly rose to the rank of Lieutenant General in the Philippine Army. He died fighting the colonizers in the Battle at Zapote Bridge in Bacoor, Cavite. http://bit.ly/2lQ7WXG
