Who Fights The War On Iran
By Brother Nathanael Kapner
How many Globalists does it take to tell 6 lies in just a few seconds?
Only one.
[Clip: “Iran seeks to annihilate Israel.
It says so openly.
It seeks to conquer the Middle East.
It threatens Europe.
It threatens the West.
It threatens the world.”]
How about ‘Iran threatens Mars’ even though its missiles can barely reach Milan?
Tell me. If Europe’s ramping up trade with Iran ever since the Nuke Deal, where’s the threat?
It’s good business that Trump’s rejecting. So much for ‘America First.’
And how many Globalists does it take to tout the lie of the century?
Again, only one.
[Clip: “I plan to speak soon with President Trump about how to counter the threat of the Iranian regime which calls for Israel’s destruction.”
Never did.
[Clip: “This idea that Iran wants to wipe Israel out, now that’s a common trope that is put about by a lot of people, a lot of people in the United States.” “They didn’t say, ‘we will wipe it out,’ you’re right.”]
When Ahmadinejad said, “The regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time,” he was anticipating Israel’s leaders' term limits. In other words, “this too shall pass.”
Taking a clue from their esteemed late leader Leon Trotsky,pursues perpetual war for perpetual…pandemonium.
Iran is now Rothschild London's main target.
With growing influence in Iraq, its alliance with Assad, and support of Hezbollah, Iran brings Globalist hegemony in the Middle East to a screeching halt.
It’s an “Axis of Resistance” that Globalists fear, with Iran its main player.
And Rothschild interests want to wipe this resistor ‘off the face of the earth.’
Enter Michael Flynn, Trump’s national security commando with his finger on the trigger.
[Clip: “Iran continues to threaten US friends and allies in the region. The Obama administration failed to respond adequately to Tehran’s malign actions including weapons transfers, support for terrorism, and other violations of international norms.”]
Sounds like America. But warmongers like Flynn can’t see the forest for the terrorist trees.
[Clip: “As of today we are officially putting Iran on notice.”]
Those are fighting words.
But who’s going to fight? Israel? Saudi Arabia?
They’ll fly a few bombers, hit Iran’s nuclear power plants (that Russia built) and fly safely back to Haifa and Jeddah.
But US troops will do the dirty work. Only the gullible die young when waging wars for the neocons Globalists.
Now, when told that Rouhani warned those who “threaten” Iran would live to “regret” it, Trump shot back, “he better be careful.”
Au contraire. Trump better be careful before he turns the Middle East into a blazing inferno. Iran is not going to take it lying down.
Trump’s playing with fire that will spread all the way to gas pumps on Main Street USA.
With $15 a gallon at the pump, no matter how many jobs Trump brings back, America will be driving on empty.
But that’s okay with the neocons. They've done this once before.
Most of the neocon billionaires are war profiteers—and once they get their war on Israel and Iran and lots of ‘useless eaters" dying young’—they’ll be eating breakfast in beds in Manhattan.

Hey Brother Nate,
I wanted to ask you, what are your thoughts on the recent departure and resignation of Mike Flynn from the Trump administration?
This topic was discussed by Jeff Rense and Gerald Celente the other day.
Celente actually believes that Trump was playing us all along. He fooled us all … well, except for you and a few others.
Pray to God and ask him to open the eyes of Mr. Trump and give him the wisdom he needs to lead America.
Let him see the role the neocons play in the Globalist’s Agenda for a one world government, the very thing that Mr. Trump said he was going to stop.
Pray to God that Trump will bring all our troops home and have peace for a change, i.e. after he helps Russia liberate Syria and annihilate ISIS; which is what I thought he also promised.
Do you see a distinction between globalism and New World Order or One World Governance ? If so, I would enjoy your differentiation.
Revelations 2:9
If all we read is true then the deepest pits of an eternal hell must await Globalists.
In fact it may be God who forbids this repentance a as due punishment for all their evil deeds
The truth is what these bastards fear most.
The excellent video below does need updating with a new set of Treasonous felons.
A Russian lawmaker suggests that if the United States really wants to punish those responsible for the continuing crisis in Ukraine, it should slap sanctions on billionaire George Soros,
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and a number of US officials.
They should slap sanctions on Nuland, Soros and Biden.
Another New World Order illegal coup d’état.

”As for Crimea’s return, this issue will not be discussed as it cannot be discussed. Russia does not discuss its territorial issues with foreign partners,” Peskov said, commenting on the White House statement that US President Donald Trump made it clear he expects Russia to return Crimea to Ukraine.”
The ideological division (polarization) in seemingly every body and echelon of the U.S. government is troubling.
It appears that latent Anti-Trump (Pro Globalists NWO + ?) forces are doing everything they can to bring Trump’s presidency down (impeachment or worse).
Iran and the Bomb:
Persians have no death wish. Should one or two nuclear tipped missiles be fired against Israel and actually find their target all of Iran would be annihilated in a devastating nuclear firestorm.
What’s the real deal?
Crimea:
You only need to look at the history of Crimea in the last several hundred years or less to know that Russia will never abandon it. Rivers of Russian blood have been spilled there.
Has me thinking about the failed British cavalry charge known as the “Charge of the Light Brigade” during the first Crimean War.
The poison in thought remains prevalent. The web of delusion still engulfs the millions of Christians.
The Ecclesia can only be resident at the gates for there to be any attempt at prevailing against it.
Love weeps, prays and tells out the Truth.
That isn’t good news for the rest of us. We refuse to fight the cowardly Khazars’ wars.
IDF received an arse-whipping back in 2006 by Lebanon’s paramilitary force, Hezbollah.
His main target is ISIS, He’s already entered that conflict by helping both Turkey and Russia fight that monstrous entity.
Trump’s real danger comes from Obama and his Bolshevik minions.
Why else would Obama buy a mansion nearby and plan to build a wall around it?
Except to make a fortress out of it, that’s all. He’s desperate to wage a civil war and overthrow Trump and/or kill him. He’s a Eurasian Khazar who hates America and intends to destroy her.
Perhaps I should have had inverted commas as follows, but it did seem clear enough:
Trump is pretty good on U.S. domestic policy but a know-nothing on U.S. foreign policy.
People like me who supported him (with reservations) knew this when he ran for President with hope that he would work on getting his foreign policy issues in order.
There’s still time but he’s off to a rough start. I suggest he talk to Putin soon and start getting advice with regards to the geopolitical world. No world leader knows how to handle these globalist criminals better than Putin.
Trump also needs to keep the neocon as far away from his Administration as possible. His son in law Kushner was not elected to anything and Trump would be a complete fool to rely on him on any political matters.
Globalists tried to get Obama to bomb Iran, but even he had enough sense to resist them and let Putin take charge on the world stage.
How WWIII starts by the Khazars & their Family.
The World splits in two. One side of the NWO hidden hand in the shadows with even Trump not realizing he is a target.
The other side is Putin and the Eastern Asian Block.
One attack on Iran is a going to Anger the Bear. Anger the Bear and you wake the Dragon.
One Eagle cannot fight both the Bear and the Dragon.
Right now it looked like there was a left and right in Washington but the strings all go to the same hand even when both sides don’t realize it.
That’s the power of the Khazar sneaks that statement “By Deception we shall do War”
Why Michael Flynn Resigned
By Brother Nathanael
—————————————————-
C’mon people, isn’t it obvious that Trump’s dumping of Flynn was an ‘inside job?’
No ‘deep state’ here, but an ‘in state’ leak of a phone conversation between Flynn and the Russian ambassador—known by all the Intel agencies since December, of which, the FBI found no wrongdoing.
It was standard FBI protocol to review intercepts of communications after ‘listening-in’ on the Russian ambassador obtained from routine electronic surveillance of Russian officials (The Russian ambassador would have known that he, like his predecessors, was under surveillance.)
Flynn was a loose cannon inside the White House, volatile and uncurbed. He was his own worst enemy.
Spicer didn’t like Flynn barging in on his press conference; Mattis, who probably didn’t care for Flynn given their differing personalities, has a whole different approach.
And Pence didn’t appreciate being embarrassed by Flynn’s dissembling after sticking up for him. Why else did Trump keep saying: “This was a trust issue?”
And my guess is that Flynn called the Russian ambassador on his own while Trump was out doing his victory laps during the transition period in December.
Flynn had to go and an ‘inside leak’ prepared the way. Perhaps a Pence-faction leaked it to the press…
My observations on Flynn during Trump’s long campaign is that he saw anti-Iran Trump as a potential winner to hook his own anti-Iran wagon to.
Flynn was a man with an agenda who believed his Islamophobic bombast would launch the right bombs in all the wrong places.
+Brother Nathanael
Obama is a traitor to America, and I believe he will soon be profiteering in a war with Iran.
But in the war, Russia will come to the help of Iran!
Russia is the real target here for globalists - not Iran.
What better way to get into war with Russia than to attack another ally?
Globalists want the control the Middle East for the vast natural resources found there that we depend on in our daily lives, but Russia, Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah have been major deterrents to globalist plans to do so.
When a lying government demonizes someone or a country, people should try to find out the real reasons why!
Given below is a research project idea related to the goals of this RJN website for anyone who is interested in a needed research topic idea for making a new book or video.
I believe that there is a need for a book or a video that verifies and proves with documentation the statements that were made by Benjamin H. Freedman. Freedman claims in his 1961 speech that he has all the proof that he needs to prove that his statements are true. But I could not find a compilation of the proofs and verification.
Besides the Youtube videos of Freedman’s speeches, Freedman supposedly wrote many articles that he published himself and that he distributed himself. But, I could only find one of his articles that was titled “Facts are Facts”.
Freedman makes a claim in his speech that there was a letter to the British War Cabinet in 1915 or 1916 to offer thesuggestion of how to win WW1 for the British ( by bringing in the USA ). Maybe someone could produce a copy of this letter.
There are a number of websites resulting from a web search that state that there is no proof at all of what Freedman claims and that all that Freedman states is anti-Semitism.
All I can say is the joint news conference today in D.C. with Trump and Netanyahu was very painful to watch.
Wasn’t sure whether to laugh or to cry. Needed wine afterwards. . .barukh attah Adonai Eloheinu melekh ha’olam, borei peri ha’gafen. Ended up laughing after all, will cry later.
This is the key statement of the Press Conference that everybody missed:
Netanyahu: “I believe that the great opportunity for peace comes from a regional approach from involving our newfound Arab partners.”
This ‘regional approach’ is a US (Mattis) proposed Nato-like coalition of anti-Iran countries in the Middle East like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Jordan (possibly) etc
Once Iran is neutralized next comes the destruction of Pakistan. Muslims Take Warning…
I entirely agree with your assessment of the circumstances of Flynn's departure.
He is gone, but the Obama neocon fear-mongering agenda is not, especially not with Bolton haunting DC corridors and think tanks, and Bannon, White House chief strategist, who seemingly regrets that he was born 1000 years too late to lead the Crusades. I’m sure he especially regrets missing the Fourth Crusade.
The “regional alliance” says all — Bibsy, the Arab monarchies, and the Saudis have been working on it for a very long time.
Trump “My friend Netanyahu. Unbreakable bond with Israel. Whatever Israel and Palestine decide in negotiations.”
If we should have kept the oil after invading hapless Iraq and destroying that country, then Israel should be able to keep the land they stole by bloodshed, extortion, and terrorism from Palestinians and Syria.
Complete annexation of the West Bank, Golan Heights in the Syrian Occupied Territory, is just another form of eminent domain.
Haaretz: Netanyahu: I Asked Trump to Recognize Israeli Sovereignty in Golan Heights
I can say that there was no surprise by my request,’ Netanyahu tells reporters after White House meeting.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told reporters at a press briefing on Wednesday that he asked U.S. President Donald Trump in their meeting to have the U.S. recognize the Golan Heights as part of Israel. “I can say that there was no surprise by my request,” Netanyahu said.
The U.S. and the international community don’t recognize the Israeli annexation of the Golan Heights, announced in 1981.
The U.S. treats the area as occupied Syrian territory, and has attempted several times to push for a peace deal between Israel and Syria that would include an Israeli withdrawal from the Golan.
Netanyahu also said that he and Trump see eye to eye on Iran, and that they have discussed Iranian activity in Syria.
“He voiced a commitment to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, and he is highly aware of Iranian aggression in the area in other matters,” Netanyahu said. “We agreed to cooperate in order to buffet this aggression.”
Netanyahu raised the issue of American recognition of the annexation of the Golan Heights at his meeting with former President Barack Obama in November 2015.
The Obama administration rejected the request and refused to further discuss the matter.
A senior official at the [Obama] White House said at the time that the U.S. stance, which is against the annexation, hasn’t changed, and added that the Israeli request could even harm the Syrian opposition factions supported by the U.S.
“I think that it was clear the U.S. is not going to change its position about the future of the Golan. … We [have] always said it has to be negotiated in line with [UN Security Council resolutions] 242 and 338. This has been and remains our position and it will not change,” he said. http://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/.premium-1.772025
Which means, Trump will do the complete opposite just to spite Obama.
In the meantime, Syria got a gift which will keep on giving — Depleted Uranium.
Foreign Policy Mag:
INVESTIGATION
The United States Used Depleted Uranium in Syria
The airstrikes on oil trucks in Islamic State-controlled areas employed the toxic material, which has been accused of causing cancer and birth defects.
Officials have confirmed that the U.S. military, despite vowing not to use depleted uranium weapons on the battlefield in Iraq and Syria, fired thousands of rounds of the munitions during two high-profile raids on oil trucks in Islamic State-controlled Syria in late 2015.
The air assaults mark the first confirmed use of this armament since the 2003 Iraq invasion, when it was used hundreds of thousands of times, setting off outrage among local communities, which alleged that its toxic material caused cancer and birth defects.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) spokesman Maj. Josh Jacques told Airwars and Foreign Policy that 5,265 armor-piercing 30 mm rounds containing depleted uranium (DU) were shot from Air Force A-10 fixed-wing aircraft on Nov. 16 and Nov. 22, 2015, destroying about 350 vehicles* in the country’s eastern desert.
Earlier in the campaign, both coalition and U.S. officials said the ammunition had not and would not be used in anti-Islamic State operations.
In March 2015, coalition spokesman John Moore said, “U.S. and coalition aircraft have not been and will not be using depleted uranium munitions in Iraq or Syria during Operation Inherent Resolve.”
Later that month, a Pentagon representative told War is Boring that A-10s deployed in the region would not have access to armor-piercing ammunition containing DU because the Islamic State didn’t possess the tanks it is designed to penetrate.
It remains unclear if the November 2015 strikes occurred near populated areas. In 2003, hundreds of thousands of rounds were shot in densely settled areas during the American invasion, leading to deep resentment and fear among Iraqi civilians and anger at the highest levels of government in Baghdad.
In 2014, in a U.N. report on DU, the Iraqi government expressed “its deep concern over the harmful effects” of the material.
DU weapons, it said, “constitute a danger to human beings and the environment” and urged the United Nations to conduct in-depth studies on their effects. Such studies of DU have not yet been completed, and scientists and doctors say as a result there is still very limited credible “direct epidemiological evidence” connecting DU to negative health effects.
The potential popular blowback from using DU, however, is very real. While the United States insists it has the right to use the weapon, experts call the decision to use the weapon in such quantities against targets it wasn’t designed for — such as tanks — peculiar at best.
The U.S. raids were part of “Tidal Wave II” — an operation aimed at crippling infrastructure that the Islamic State relied on to sell millions of dollars’ worth of oil.
The Pentagon said the Nov. 16 attacks happened in the early morning near Al-Bukamal, a city in the governorate of Deir Ezzor near the border with Iraq, and destroyed 116 tanker trucks.
Though the coalition said that the strikes occurred entirely in Syrian territory, both sides of the frontier were completely under the control of the militant group at the time.
Any firing of DU in Iraqi territory would have far greater political repercussions, given the anger over its previous use there.
The Nov. 16 video below shows tankers hit first by larger ordnances, before others are engulfed in sparks and ripped apart by fire from 30 mm cannons.
Video of the second DU run on Nov. 22 destroyed what is described as 283 “Daesh Oil trucks” in the desert between Al-Hasakeh and Deir Ezzor — both capitals of governorates of the same names.
The use of DU in Syria was first reported by this author in IRIN News last October. CENTCOM and the U.S. Air Force at first denied it was fired, then offered differing accounts of what happened, including an admission in October that the weapon had been used.
However, the dates confirmed by CENTCOM at that point were off by several days. It is now clear that the munitions were used in the most publicized of the Tidal Wave II attacks.
Depleted uranium is left over from the enrichment of uranium 235. It is exceptionally hard, and has been employed by militaries both to penetrate armored targets and to reinforce their potential targets like tanks against enemy fire.
Though less radioactive than the original uranium, DU is toxic and is considered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to be a “radiation health hazard when inside the body.”
The most likely way for such intake to occur is through the inhalation of small particles near where a weapon is used. But doctors and anti-nuclear activists alike say there hasn’t been enough research done to prove the precise health effects and exposure thresholds for humans.
Most important, the lack of comprehensive research on illnesses and health outcomes in post-conflict areas where DU was used has led to a proliferation of assumptions and theories about DU’s potential to cause birth defects and cancer.
Firing rounds near civilian populations has a powerful psychological effect, causing distress and severe anxiety, as the International Atomic Energy Agency noted in 2014.
Internationally, DU exists in a legal gray area. It is not explicitly banned by U.N. conventions like those that restrict land mines or chemical weapons.
And although the United States applies restrictions on the weapon’s handling domestically, it does not regulate its use overseas in civilian areas with nearly the same caution.
“I think this is an area of international humanitarian law that needs a lot more attention,” said Cymie Payne, a legal scholar and professor of ecology at Rutgers University who has researched DU.
“As we’ve been focusing more in recent years on the post-conflict period and thinking about peace building …we need a clean environment so people can use the environment.”
Jacques, the CENTCOM spokesman, says the ammunition was fired that November because of a “higher probability of destruction for targets.”
Liars in the White House, Liars in the Oval Office, Liars in Congress, Liars in the Pentagon.
The Globalists think their ownership and control of the mass media gives them a license to lie.
We know where your al katsas are. We know what you think.
“We will live by the sword” –B. Netanyahu. You should read the rest of that book, fool.
Pakistan has between 90 and 120 nukes according to Wiki - no matter the number, and 10 in the hands of Iran would also deter invasions.
This is what Pakistan should do, and never mind the NNPT, as Israel has had nukes for a long time.
And as long as Israel has nukes so should every one else.
Flynn’s a good man. What he said about Iran was just obligatory rhetoric.
The Obama admin, as represented by the assorted welded on intel agencies regardless of who is nominally president - until now, de facto continues, and would be looking for two more strikes, to make Trump look like a clown, effectively nullifying his future authority as expressed via executive orders.
There will be no more resignations of Trump cabinet appointees as he has admitted that he was misled by sources within the intel establishment, but can’t now reverse - having accepted, Flynn’s resignation.
As for Iran, Trump isn’t going to war against Iran on anyone’s behalf. He’s nobody’s goyisher kopf, all of this verbal belligerence about Iran is just to get all of his picks for cabinet confirmed by the Senate.
It’s not yet a calendar month, and I continue to have full confidence in Mr Trump, because he has a deep integrity, currently obscured by him having been deceived by these hold outs from the ‘l’ancien regime’.
May the clean out begin, and with a righteous resolve of which he is fully capable!
I was told by an Israeli that they have nukes hidden in the USA and elsewhere to use if they need to force that country to do what they want.
The Samson Option. Wouldn’t surprise me at all.
OY VEY!
I have the uneasy feeling that America’s military leaders have watched too many John Wayne, Hollywood and Pinecrest studios movies about WW2 (Wayne was never in a war), and underestimate European armies, and that they are also delusionally dependent on gadgets and in particular air power.
Its not a good idea to provoke the sleeping Russian bear to start another Color Revolution on behalf of the Khazar organized crime.
In WW2 the American army did not win a single battle against the German army when both sides were evenly matched.
Panzer Willy destroyed more than 100 American tanks at the Battle of the Bulge, and a great many of them after he ran out of ammunition. He rammed them.
More than 100 German pilots shot down more than 100 allied planes. Eric Hartman got 350. No allied Pilot shot down 50.
Despite all the gadgetry and Rambo movies, the American military got beat in Vietnam by highly motivated people armed with obsolete WW2 equipment.
Take away air power and there is no American military.
The German submarine corp had a 60% casualty rate and was flooded by volunteers until the end of the war. The Canadian army had to kill 22,000 German child soldiers (Hitler Youth) to get them to quit at the end of the war.
In Vietnam more than half the American officers killed were shot or "fragged" by their own men.
The problem is that war itself is a crime. You kill innocent people and the very best young men simply to make a handful of heavily inbred, feeble mined and degenerate bankers richer.
So easy to find peace now but America and NATO won’t have it. Their Banking masters won’t let them.
The Khazar-copntrolled Media, the Judicial system, and the many other legions of neocon scum are attacking Trump more viciously than any president before.
Even Nixon and Carter were not hated by the ACJ to this extent. It is bizarre that a politician like Trump who has been in bed with the NY financial guys so many times, for so long, is now being attacked so savagely by the ACJ.
Even Fox news jumped on the Bash-Trump Bandwagon yesterday. Shepherd Smith spent his air time trying to destroy Trump. Next Neil Cavuto spent his hour putting down Trump. It appears that Satan is determined to destroy Trump.
The Kushner Brothers took a quarter million dollar loan from Soros.
Trump got a $160 million loan from Soros that was forgiven.
The American military did not get beat in Nam by a superior military.
The problem was that until Nixon did what should have been done from the beginning, and that is bombing Hanoi and chasing them into Laos and Cambodia, we fought the war with one hand tied behind our backs.
Tet was a complete military failure as we beat them mercilessly back but rather a political victory so Cronkite could say the war is now unwinnable.
You have evidently drunk the cool-aid re Nam, which was really just a footnote, along with Watergate to the career of Joe Kennedy Sr. who stole the election in 1960 from Nixon. God bless Tricky Dick who hung in there to rescue our nation from the incompetent Democrat Party and possible nuclear war.
Israel has had informal backdoor diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia for years.
~~~*~~~
Middle East Eye:
Thursday 16 February 2017
The Trump administration is in discussions about the formation of a regional Arab security alliance with Israel as a counterbalance to Iran’s influence in the Middle East, according to Arab officials.
The alliance would include Egypt and Jordan, both of whom recognise and have peace treaties with Israel, as well as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, neither of whom recognise Israel but are known to have covertly shared intelligence in the past.
“They’ve been asking diplomatic missions in Washington if we’d be willing to join this force that has an Israeli component,” one Arab diplomat said, according to the Wall Street Journal.
“Israel’s role would likely be intelligence sharing, not training or boots on the ground. They’d provide intelligence and targets. That’s what the Israelis are good at.”
Speaking during a Wednesday joint news conference with the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said the plan would potentially have an enormous impact on the balance of power in the Middle East, which is currently seeing a regional rivalry and proxy wars between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
“It is something that is very different, hasn’t been discussed before,” said Trump.
“And it’s actually a much bigger deal - much more important deal in a sense. It would take in many, many countries and would cover a very large territory.”
Netanyahu, who has previously boasted of the cooperation between Israel and the Gulf states, also praised the idea.
“I believe that the great opportunity for peace comes from a regional approach from involving our newfound Arab partners,” he said.
The effect of the agreement would be similar to the NATO alliance’s mutual defence policy, where there is a collective responsibility to respond if one member is attacked.
Such an alliance would prove controversial as, aside from the Gulf states not officially recognising Israel, the populations of those countries are resolutely pro-Palestinian.
However, another Arab official told the WSJ that the Trump administration could use the designation of the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organisation - which the Egyptian government has already implemented - as an incentive for Egypt to join the alliance.
The officials added that the Trump administration had approached Egypt to host a combined force, but that Saudi Arabia was also keen to join.
Any alliance would effectively expand upon the Saudi-led coalition that is currently waging a campaign of air strikes against the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
Though Trump has repeatedly said his government would be the most pro-Israel ever, he has recently stepped back from a promise to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, a move which would be illegal under international law.
According to the officials, this may be another concession to the Arab states in order to incentivize the creation of the regional alliance.
Major General Ahmed Asiri, a military adviser to Saudi Arabia’s defence ministry, refused to comment on the proposal to the WSJ.
“With Israel, we don’t have official relations,” he said.
The American military did not get beaten by a superior military. They got beaten by an inferior, and by comparison, very poorly armed military.
Fifty thousand dead Americans is some foot note.
By comparison, the British did not get beaten in Malaya by a Communist army. They won but they fought man to man and did not rely on air power.
I realize the USA won Tet.
By coincidence I recently spent several days with an American Colonel who ran a fire base in Viet Nam.
He said it would have been very easy to have won in Viet Nam when the NVA finally moved south in force but he said the US could not win because Nixon froze the supplies of munitions to the air force. Nixon really bothered him.
He spoke very highly of General Westmoreland but lets face it. Giap won and Westmoreland lost.
Some others like Chip Tatum do not speak as highly of Richard Nixon as yourself but you are right about the main concern being getting into a nuclear war with China because America could not win a land war with China.
Colonel Merle Prebble, whom I was told was Creighton Abram’s executve assistant (not sure its true) told me the same thing.
The Russians won’t be a pushover. The Turks have the best army in NATO and the Russians have defeated Turkey in 17 wars. Real dumb for the USA and NATO to wind things up when there is no need.
Civilian casualties aside, we could wipe any military in a no-holds-barred fight.
The game changer is that Russia has equal our nukes and so after our advanced weaponry and we have 20+ times more of it then they do, wins the day. They resort to nukes which their land mass and civilian preparedness gives them the edge.
The problem with post-Nam warfare is that the press has too much input, but when push comes to shove, we cream ALL the competition. Sorry if that disappoints you but it’s what I believe. Have a nice day.
Amerika’s Generals in talking `tough` to the Russians re. Ukraine & M.E.need to take a reality check.
A lot of water has gone under the bridge & transformations to the armed service personnel of USA & UK since Iwo Jima, & Chindits in Burma & Malaya.
Special forces alone will not win wars. The large numbers of accepted alternative lifestyle adherents & obese in Western battalions will be no match for the Fit, Fanatical, Patriotic Russian volunteer armies.
Why even Russian football hooligans are more feared than the Spetsnaz.
Yes dumb indeed, without even considering Russia’s new chum China.
David Friedman’s Israel Connections - as Revealed in His Financial Disclosure Report
Considerable attention has focused on David Friedman’s links to the West Bank settlement of Beit El.
A review of his records submitted to the U.S. State Dept. ahead of his confirmation hearing show the ties go much deeper. Read the full documents here.
David Friedman, the U.S. ambassador-designate to Israel whose confirmation hearings begin Thursday, is certainly no stranger to the country where he hopes to take up official residence very soon.
A frequent visitor to Israel, he owns a penthouse apartment in an affluent Jerusalem neighborhood where he makes a practice of spending the Jewish holidays with his family.
In recent months, considerable attention has focused on one facet of his connection to Israel: his leadership position in an organization that fundraises for institutions and projects in the West Bank settlement of Beit El.
Friedman has served as president of American Friends of Beit El Yeshiva Center since December 2011 and has pledged to resign as soon as his nomination is confirmed.
But a review of the financial disclosure report he submitted to the U.S. State Department ahead of his confirmation hearings indicates that Friedman’s ties to the country and its people span far beyond Beit El.
Among the positions he currently holds, Friedman is a member of the board of American Friends of United Hatzalah, an Israeli volunteer-run emergency medical treatment organization.
The ambassador-designate has holdings in the Montefiore Winery, which has offices in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, as well as in TowerSec, an Israeli-founded company, based in Detroit, that specializes in automotive cyber security.
He also owns shares in Maverick Ventures, a California-based investment firm owned and managed by Israelis that focuses on Israeli high-tech.
Friedman is a partner in Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman, a New York-based firm where he specializes in bankruptcy law.
Among his big clients is one of Israel’s wealthiest tycoons, Yossi Maiman, chairman of the Herzliya-based Merhav Group. Friedman has represented him in at least five bankruptcy cases since 2012.
Former U.S. Ambassadors Urge Senate Not to Confirm Friedman as Trump’s Israel Envoy
David Friedman’s ‘extreme positions’ make him ‘unqualified for the position,’ former American envoys to Israel Pickering, Kurtzer, Walker, Cunningham and Harrop write Senate.
However, respectfully, I would like to say something on Trump’s behalf and a question for you. Trump has/had a really fantastic life as a successful businessman. He has beautiful children, wife, excellent business and is denied nothing in the way of comfort.
With that said, Trump gave all that up and overcame overwhelming obstacles and criticisms to even secure the Republican nomination, then not only does he have Republican Cucks like Ryan, McCain, Lindsey, Rubio, Bush Romney arrayed against him, even now these cucks will pile on Trump if they sense weakness on Trump's part.
Then of course you have the Commie-Crats like Clinton, Schumer, Soros, all Media outlets including Fox Noos and countless others who look for the slightest chink in Trump's armor. All of these entities I mention that attack Trump are the people we consider enemies.
I am sure you watched Trump’s news conference today.
You could sense the hate they have for Trump. For now, given that Trump has only been president a few weeks, maybe we should give him a chance and see.
Trump had to get through many an obstacles and barbs to get where he is at now.
I suppose what I want you (and others) to understand where I am coming from is if Trump is a ‘plant’ or some sinister plot by Globalist elements to install Trump, why would they not have just went for some Cuck like JEB, Rubio, or even Hillary Clinton? Any of those hacks would have been ‘more perfect’ for them than Trump?
Plus, even after the election, the Cucks (like Bush) lost many millions and democrats lost many millions of dollars going after this guy. Even now, they seem to be throwing everything they have at him. Thanks for educational website.
Fake News Fail: Venezuelan Government Finally Orders Shutdown of CNN for Bogus and Misleading Reports
Deep State TV network and master of fake news, CNN, now being kicked out of countries for spreading twisted propaganda and trying to destabilize societies and governments.
Among the fake news stories being broadcast on CNN in Venezuela have been bogus reports of the President Maduro’s Venezuelan government selling illegal passports to Middle East terrorists and other drug traffickers.
It is believed that CNN was intentionally trying to discredit and damage the government of Venezuela at a time of serious economic instability and heightened political tensions in the country.
The government’s patience for CNN’s fake news finally ran out this week – prompting the provisional shutdown of the US network in Venezuela. Foreign Minister Delcy Rodríguez went so far as to accused CNN of a “war operation”.
More from RT International…
Venezuela’s media watchdog has ordered CNN’s Spanish-language channel off the air across the country, accusing it of engaging in a propaganda war. Nicolas Maduro said earlier the channel is “sticking its nose” in the country’s internal affairs and “manipulating” information.
The Venezuelan National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) has opened an “administrative sanctioning proceeding” against the CNN Español news channel for allegedly attempting to violate the “peace and democratic stability” of the country.
The sanctions were imposed “due to the content” that has been disseminated by the international news outlet in a “systematic and repeated way” in the channel’s daily programming, said a statement released by Conatel.
— Conatel Venezuela (@Conatel) February 15, 2017
Conatel has ruled that CNN’s reporting often “lacks proof” and fuels a “climate of intolerance” by distorting the truth in an “inadequate manner” – in contradiction to the provisions of article 58 of the Venezuelan constitution, which states that everyone has the right to timely and impartial information.
The move comes after a joint investigation by CNN and CNN Español claimed to have uncovered serious irregularities in the issuing of Venezuelan passports and visas inside the embassy in Baghdad. On February 6, CNN Español broadcast a report fingering Venezuelan Vice President Tareck El Aissami as one of those allegedly responsible for the scheme.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Delcy Rodriguez, accused CNN of launching a “propaganda war” against her country, after the channel reported about alleged passports sales to people linked to terrorism and drug trafficking. She accused the channel of spreading “an absolute lie” calling such an approach “a pity.”
“CNN en Español launched a psychological warfare operation, a war propaganda operation, mounted absolutely on falsehoods,” she said. Rodriguez also demanded action from the broadcast authorities and the legal team.
Prior to Conatel’s announcement, President Nicolas Maduro indicated that he wants the channel “out” of the country for its “manipulation” of news.
“CNN, do not get into the affairs of Venezuelans. I want CNN well away from here. Outside of Venezuela.
“Do not put your nose in Venezuela,” Maduro said, as cited by El Nacional. “Some media like CNN tried to manipulate. They cannot manipulate! That is our business, of the Venezuelans.”
It takes over 200,000 rounds of ammo to kill one enemy soldier. (Scared???)
I don’t even know where to begin.
Iran can sink every aircraft carrier that gets close in no time.
So, Trump and his most anti-Iran White House ever, is going to help the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia murder more Yemenis, particularly those ‘threats’ to Saudi security such as large wedding parties and and large funerals which the brave Saudis then target for airstrikes?????????.
And, are these weapon packages that Trump released a part of gearing up for Israel’s proposed alliance with the Wahabi Sunni Saudis and other Gulf monarchies itching for more direct war on Lebanon, Syria, and Iran since their paid proxy terrorists in Syria are foundering?
Netanyahu stated that Israel would likely share (control) its intelligence with this NATO-like regional Arab alliance against Iran and the Axis of Resistance?
In the meantime, the private War Industry sector hears the sound of cash registers ringing and with whoops of joy, cries out: “We hear money!”
Washington Times:
Trump to approve weapons packages to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain blocked by Obama
The Trump administration is poised to move quickly to approve major weapons packages for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain that President Obama blocked during his final months in office over human rights concerns in both nations, U.S. officials and congressional sources say.
While the White House declined to discuss its plans, one U.S. official directly involved in the transfers told The Washington Times that a roughly $300 million precision-guided missile technology package for Riyadh and a multibillion-dollar F-16 deal for Bahrain are now in the pipeline ready for clearance from the new administration.
The deals, if approved, would send a significant signal about the priorities of the new administration, where the security challenge posed by forces such as Islamist jihadi groups and Iran is taking a much greater precedence in setting foreign policy.
“These are significant sales for key allies in the Gulf who are facing the threat from Iran and who can contribute to the fight against the Islamic State,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
“Whereas the Obama administration held back on these, they’re now in the new administration’s court for a decision — and I would anticipate the decision will be to move forward.”
The Pentagon also declined to comment. But congressional sources said they anticipate the Trump administration will easily overcome resistance on Capitol Hill, where Democrats and some Republicans have called for restrictions on sales to Riyadh amid an outcry from human rights groups over large-scale civilian casualties of the Saudi-led military campaign in neighboring Yemen.
Amnesty International has charged that the U.S.-backed, Saudi-led coalition waging war against Iran-backed rebels in Yemen “appear[s] to have deliberately targeted civilians and civilian objects such as hospitals, schools, markets and mosques, which may amount to war crimes.”
Congressional resistance
More than 60 members of the House signed a bipartisan letter calling on former President Obama to delay a $1.15 billion sale of battle tanks to Saudi Arabia last Summer.
In September Republican Sens. Mike Lee of Utah and Rand Paul of Kentucky co-sponsored a bill with Democratic Sens. Christopher Murphy of Connecticut and Al Franken of Minnesota to try to block the sale.
While the bill was tabled by a 71-27 procedural vote, the senators made headlines arguing that Riyadh’s indiscriminate bombing in Yemen was feeding extremist narratives and strengthening al Qaeda and Islamic State in the war-torn nation.
The Obama administration ultimately approved the Saudi tank deal — a move many saw as part of a pattern to ease security fears of the Saudis and other Arab Gulf states in the wake of the nuclear deal Mr. Obama strongly backed with Iran.
But during his final days in office, Mr. Obama suddenly shifted on weapons sales to the Saudis, specifically with regard to the now-pending package of precision-guided weapons technology.
An Obama administration official told Reuters in December that “systemic” and “endemic” problems in Saudi Arabia’s targeting in Yemen had led to the decision to spike the sale of the so-called smart bomb technology from Raytheon.
The U.S. official who spoke with The Times this week questioned that logic and suggested the Trump White House is now poised to embrace the deal, which would include enough of the Waltham, Massachusetts-based company’s “Paveway” guidance systems to “convert thousands of dumb bombs into smart bombs.”
The U.S. has sold precision-guided bombs and technology to the Saudis as far back as 2008, but the kingdom has reportedly been badly in need of a resupply since its campaign in Yemen kicked off two years ago.
“While we’re very concerned about Saudi actions in Yemen in terms of the civilian casualties, we believe a more accurate partner is a more effective partner and results in fewer casualties,” the official said. “If they’re going to drop stuff, it should be precision-guided rather than dumb.”
Bahrain concerns
On a separate track, the Obama administration in October blocked the proposed $3 billion sale of 19 Lockheed Martin F-16 fighter jets to Bahrain until the tiny Sunni Arab monarchy demonstrated measurable progress on human rights.
The government in Bahrain, which hosts the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet, has aggressively cracked down on its restive Shiite Muslim majority since the pro-democracy Arab Spring uprisings of 2011.
It’s not clear whether the Bahrain and Saudi deals will face the same level of opposition on Capitol Hill as was seen last fall. Once the Trump administration signs off on the deals, Congress will have 30 days to block them.
Mr. Paul and Mr. Murphy declined to comment for this article.
Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker suggested the Bahrain deal may be imminent, but declined to comment on the Saudi deal.
“I’m hoping the Bahrain deal is going to roll out without the restrictions,” the Tennessee Republican told Defense News last week. “I think it could happen soon.”
A senior aide to Mr. Corker told The Times that the senator stands by the assertion.
The Saudi embassy in Washington did not respond to a request for comment.
Sources close to the government in Riyadh, however, said that Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir is “very, very up” on the Trump administration and believes it will pursue a significantly different policy from the Obama administration, particularly toward Iran.
Other U.S. officials, speaking on background this week, noted that the Trump administration already moved during its first days in office to approve roughly $1 billion in sales for America’s Gulf Arab allies, including some $400 million in air-to-air missiles and helicopter parts for Kuwait and a $500 million-plus package that included Aerostat observation balloons for Saudi Arabia.
The Saudis in particular are likely to see billions of dollars in more defense sales in the coming years.
William Hartung of the Washington, D.C.-based Center for International Policy noted in an analysis published in December that the Obama administration offered more than $115 billion worth of weapons to Riyadh in 42 separate deals between 2009 and 2016 — more than any U.S. administration in history.
“The majority of this equipment is still in the pipeline, and could tie the United States to the Saudi military for years to come,” wrote Mr. Hartung, who said in an interview this week that the Trump administration should proceed with caution on both Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
“In the case of Bahrain, whatever purported benefits they would get from more F-16s are counterweighted by the fact that they suppress democracy,” he said.
“The Obama administration’s sudden resistance in December had also sent “a concrete message” to the Saudis that “we’re not going to tolerate their indiscriminate bombing of civilians in Yemen,” he added.
“To lift that now, without some indication from the Saudis that they’re going to stop doing it, makes no sense,” Mr. Hartung said.
“I was told by an Israeli that they have nukes hidden in the USA and elsewhere to use if they need to force that country to do what they want. The Samson Option. Wouldn’t surprise me at all.”
The “Samson Option” has nothing to do with nukes planted in the U.S. That’s to blackmail the politicians.
What they mean by the “Samson Option” is to destroy all nations while being destroyed.
The Biblical Samson took down the temple of the Philistines by crushing it’s pillars and by killing all of them he also killed himself. If they start to feel like cornered rats with no exit they will destroy the Earth including themselves by launching all their nuclear missiles.
I knew a retired Malayan Police Superintendent (a Chinese) and his wife. He had fought the Communists with the British in the Jungles of Malaya.
He showed me three medals he was given for his duties there - two from monarchies, of Britain and Perak and one from the Police of Malaya.
It was rather well known that the British success was due in a large degree to the fact that a London Superintendent of Police presented them with a brilliant strategy of containment and in conjunction with Rubber Planters.
The fight was in the jungles and it seemingly was the planning and skills that induced a victory in the end, although Communist groups still existed until the 1980s when an Amnesty was declared for those who would leave the jungles in surrender. This did occur.
The enemy fighting for their ideology, often did have victories. However, there were no missiles, robots, drones or other modern modes of warfare so it was almost hand to hand in the depths of the forests and the clearings in which they would set up camp.
On and off, I’ve been browsing through these same online Declassified Memos in the CIA’s historical collections release on their CREST 25 year program archive, but, with some 13 million pages worth, hadn’t reached this one which Brad Hoff comments on, and is particularly relevant to Syria today.
The archives cover events from the 1940s the 1990s, including UFOs, psychic research, Air America, Clinton & Bosnia, Presidential Briefings, etc . It can be accessed at this link:
Libertarian Institute: New Declassified CIA Memo Presents Blueprint for Syrian Regime Collapse
Brad Hoff
A newly declassified CIA document explored multiple scenarios of Syrian regime collapse at a time when Hafez al-Assad’s government was embroiled in a covert “dirty war” with Israel and the West, and in the midst of a diplomatic crisis which marked an unprecedented level of isolation for Syria.
The 24-page formerly classified memo entitled Syria: Scenarios of Dramatic Political Change was produced in July 1986, and had high level distribution within the Reagan administration and to agency directors, including presidential advisers, the National Security Council, and the US ambassador to Syria.
The memo’s cover letter, drafted by the CIA’s Director of Global Issues (the report itself was prepared by the division’s Foreign Subversion and Instability Center), introduces the purpose of presenting “a number of possible scenarios that could lead to the ouster of President Assad or other dramatic change in Syria.”
It further curiously warns that, “Because the analysis out of context is susceptible to misunderstanding, external distribution has been severely restricted.”
The report’s narrowed distribution list (sent to specific named national security heads, not entire agencies) indicates that it was considered at the highest levels of the Reagan administration.
The coming sectarian war for Syria
The intelligence report’s contents contain some striking passages which seem remarkably consistent with events as they unfolded decades later at the start of the Syrian war in 2011:
“Although we judge that fear of reprisals and organizational problems make a second Sunni challenge unlikely, an excessive government reaction to minor outbreaks of Sunni dissidence might trigger large-scale unrest.
“In most instances the regime would have the resources to crush a Sunni opposition movement, but we believe widespread violence among the populace could stimulate large numbers of Sunni officers and conscripts to desert or munity, setting the stage for civil war.” [pg.2]
The “second Sunni challenge” is a reference to the Syrian government’s prior long running war against a Muslim Brotherhood insurgency which culminated in the 1982 Hama Massacre.
While downplaying the nationalist and pluralistic composition of the ruling Ba’ath party, the report envisions a renewal and exploitation of sectarian fault lines pitting Syria’s Sunni population against its Alawite leadership:
“Sunnis make up 60 percent of the Syrian officer corps but are concentrated in junior officer ranks; enlisted men are predominantly Sunni conscripts.
“We believe that a renewal of communal violence between Alawis and Sunnis could inspire Sunnis in the military to turn against the regime.” [pg.12]
Regime change and the Muslim Brotherhood
The possibility of the Muslim Brotherhood spearheading another future armed insurgency leading to regime change is given extensive focus.
While the document’s tone suggests this as a long term future scenario (especially considering the Brotherhood suffered overwhelming defeat and went completely underground in Syria by the mid-1980’s), it is considered one of the top three “most likely” drivers of regime change (the other scenarios include “Succession Power Struggle” and “Military Reverses Spark a Coup”).
The potential for revival of the Muslim Brotherhood’s “militant faction” is introduced in the following:
“Although the Muslim Brotherhood’s suppression drastically reduced armed dissidence, we judge a significant potential still exists for another Sunni opposition movement.
“In part the Brotherhood’s role was to exploit and orchestrate opposition activity by other organized groups… These groups still exist, and under proper leadership they could coalesce into a large movement… …young professionals who formed the base of support for the militant faction of the Muslim Brotherhood; and remnants of the Brotherhood itself who could become leaders in a new Sunni opposition movement…” [pp.13-14]
The Brotherhood’s role is seen as escalating the potential for initially small Sunni protest movements to morph into violent sectarian civil war:
“Sunni dissidence has been minimal since Assad crushed the Muslim Brotherhood in the early 1980s, but deep-seated tensions remain–keeping alive the potential for minor incidents to grow into major flareups of communal violence…
“Excessive government force in quelling such disturbances might be seen by Sunnis as evidence of a government vendetta against all Sunnis, precipitating even larger protests by other Sunni groups…
“Mistaking the new protests as a resurgence of the Muslim Brotherhood, the government would step up its use of force and launch violent attacks on a broad spectrum of Sunni community leaders as well as on those engaged in protests. Regime efforts to restore order would founder if government violence against protestors inspired broad-based communal violence between Alawis and Sunnis.” [pp.19-20]
The CIA report describes the final phase of an evolving sectarian war which witnesses the influx of fighters and weapons from neighboring countries.
Consistent with a 1983 secret report that called for a US covert operation to utilize then US-allied Iraq as a base of attack on Syria, the 1986 analysis says, “Iraq might supply them with sufficient weapons to launch a civil war”:
A general campaign of Alawi violence against Sunnis might push even moderate Sunnis to join the opposition.
“Remnants of the Muslim Brotherhood–some returning from exile in Iraq–could provide a core of leadership for the movement.
“Although the regime has the resources to crush such a venture, we believe brutal attacks on Sunni civilians might prompt large numbers of Sunni officers and conscripts to desert or stage mutinies in support of dissidents, and Iraq might supply them with sufficient weapons to launch a civil war. [pp.20-21]
A Sunni regime serving Western economic interests
While the document is primarily a theoretical exploration projecting scenarios of Syrian regime weakening and collapse (its purpose is analysis and not necessarily policy), the authors admit of its “purposefully provocative” nature (see PREFACE) and closes with a list desired outcomes.
One provocative outcome describes a pliant “Sunni regime” serving US economic interests:
“In our view, US interests would be best served by a Sunni regime controlled by business-oriented moderates.
“Business moderates would see a strong need for Western aid and investment to build Syria’s private economy, thus opening the way for stronger ties to Western governments.” [pg. 24]
Ironically, the Syrian government would accuse the United States and its allies of covert subversion within Syria after a string of domestic bombings created diplomatic tensions during the mid-1980’s.
Dirty tricks and diplomacy in the 1980’s
According to Patrick Seale’s landmark book, Asad of Syria: The Struggle for the Middle East, 1986 was a year that marked Syria’s greatest isolation among world powers as multiple diplomatic crises and terror events put Syria more and more out in the cold.
The year included “the Hindawi affair”—a Syrian intelligence sponsored attempt to hijack and bomb an El Al flight to Tel Aviv—and may or may not have involved Nezar Hindawi working as a double agent on behalf of Israel.
The foiled plot brought down international condemnation on Syria and lives on as one of the more famous and bizarre terror conspiracies in history.
Not only were Syria and Israel once again generally on the brink of war in 1986, but a string of “dirty tricks” tactics were being utilized by Syria and its regional enemies to shape diplomatic outcomes primarily in Lebanon and Jordan.
In March and April of 1986 (months prior to the distribution of the CIA memo), a string of still largely unexplained car bombs rocked Damascus and at least 5 towns throughout Syria, leaving over 200 civilians dead in the most significant wave of attacks since the earlier ’79-’82 war with the Muslim Brotherhood (also see BBC News recount the attacks).
Patrick Seale’s book speculates of the bombings that, “It may not have been unconnected that in late 1985 the NSC’s Colonel Oliver North and Amiram Nir, Peres’s counter-terrorism expert, set up a dirty tricks outfit to strike back at the alleged sponsors of Middle East terrorism.”*
Consistency with future WikiLeaks files
The casual reader of Syria: Scenarios of Dramatic Political Change will immediately recognize a strategic thinking on Syria that looks much the same as what is revealed in national security memos produced decades later in the run up to the current war in Syria.
When US cables or intelligence papers talk regime change in Syria they usually strategize in terms of exploiting sectarian fault lines.
In a sense, this is the US national security bureaucracy’s fall-back approach to Syria.
One well-known example is contained in a December 2006 State Dept. cable sent from the US embassy in Syria (subsequently released by WikiLeaks).
The cable’s stated purpose is to explore Syrian regime vulnerabilities and weaknesses to exploit (in similar fashion to the 1986 CIA memo):
PLAY ON SUNNI FEARS OF IRANIAN INFLUENCE: There are fears in Syria that the Iranians are active in both Shia proselytizing and conversion of, mostly poor, Sunnis.
Though often exaggerated, such fears reflect an element of the Sunni community in Syria that is increasingly upset by and focused on the spread of Iranian influence in their country through activities ranging from mosque construction to business.
Another section of the 2006 cable explains precisely the same scenario laid out in the 1986 memo in describing the increased “possibility of a self-defeating over-reaction” on the part of the regime.:
“ENCOURAGE RUMORS AND SIGNALS OF EXTERNAL PLOTTING: The regime is intensely sensitive to rumors about coup-plotting and restlessness in the security services and military.
“Regional allies like Egypt and Saudi Arabia should be encouraged to meet with figures like [former Vice President Abdul Halim] Khaddam and [younger brother of Hafez] Rif’at Asad as a way of sending such signals, with appropriate leaking of the meetings afterwards.
“This again touches on this insular regime’s paranoia and increases the possibility of a self-defeating over-reaction.”
And ironically, Rif’at Asad and Khaddam are both mentioned extensively in the 1986 memo as key players during a speculative future “Succession Power Struggle.” [p.15]
An Islamic State in Damascus?
While the 1986 CIA report makes a case in its concluding paragraph for “a Sunni regime controlled by business-oriented moderates” in Syria, the authors acknowledge that the collapse of the Ba’ath state could actually usher in the worst of all possible outcomes for Washington and the region: “religious zealots” might seek to establish “an Islamic Republic”.
The words take on a new and special importance now, after the rise of ISIS:
“Although Syria’s secular traditions would make it extremely difficult for religious zealots to establish an Islamic Republic, should they succeed they would likely deepen hostilities with Israel and provide support and sanctuary to terrorists groups.”[pg.24]
What continues to unfold in Syria has apparently surpassed even the worst case scenarios of intelligence planners in the 1980’s.
Tinkering with regime change has proven itself to be the most dangerous of all games.
Kremlin.ru: Meeting of Federal Security Service Board (FSB):
Vladimir Putin took part in an annual expanded meeting of the Federal Security Service (FSB) Board to discuss the FSB’s results for 2016 and the priority tasks for ensuring Russia’s national security. (Excerpt):
I would like to thank both the executives and staff for their conscientious attitude towards their work and their timely and efficient performance of their duties.
At the same time, demands on the quality and results of your work grow constantly.
The global situation has not become any more stable or better over the past year. On the contrary, many existing threats and challenges have only become more acute.
Military-political and economic rivalry between global and regional policy makers and between individual countries has increased.
We see bloody conflicts continue in a number of countries in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
International terrorist groups, essentially terrorist armies, receiving tacit and sometimes even open support from some countries, take active part in these conflicts.
At the NATO summit last July in Warsaw, Russia was declared the main threat to the alliance for the first time since 1989, and NATO officially proclaimed containing Russia its new mission.
It is with this aim that NATO continues its expansion. This expansion was already underway earlier, but now they believe they have more serious reasons for doing so.
They have stepped up the deployment of strategic and conventional arms beyond the national borders of the principal NATO member states.
They are provoking us constantly and are trying to draw us into confrontation.
We see continued attempts to interfere in our internal affairs in a bid to destabilise the social and political situation in Russia itself.
We also see the recent serious flare-up in southeast Ukraine. This escalation pursues the clear aim of preventing the Minsk Agreements from going ahead.
The current Ukrainian authorities are obviously not seeking a peaceful solution to this very complex problem and have decided to opt for the use of force instead.
What is more, they speak openly about organising sabotage and terrorism, particularly in Russia. Obviously, this is a matter of great concern.
…
It is in our common interests to restore dialogue with the US intelligence services and with other NATO member countries.
It is not our fault that these ties were broken off and are not developing.
It is very clear that all responsible countries and international groups should work together on counterterrorism, because even simply exchanging information on terrorists’ financing channels and sources and on people involved in or suspected of links with terrorism can substantially improve the results of our common efforts.
Our priorities include firmly suppressing extremism. Security methods must go hand-in-hand with constant prevention work.
It is essential to prevent extremism from drawing young people into its criminal networks, and to form an overall firm rejection of nationalism, xenophobia, and aggressive radicalism.
The only war America ever won against a communist army was in the Congo and that is because the fighting was led by non-Americans although black American Marines wearing Congolese uniforms were involved.
Mad Mike Hoare, an Irishman who fought with the British army in Malaysia and was put in charge of the South African mercenary army which was nothing but a collection of hooligans.
I knew John Valk, who just died, very well and spent weeks with him talking about the war in the Congo, and John told me he was the CIA’s man in Isiro during the war. John was Dutch and very smart and very cool. He talked his way out of many hopeless situations where the others with him lost their lives.
The CIA had been using Cuban pilots from Miami to bomb the jungle but they did not know where the Simbas (North Korean trained) were.
If the pilots stayed out more than 5 hours they got paid overtime so they spent their days bombing chimpanzees and gorillas and the war was going nowhere.
This bugger up was noticed by a man, with a Prussian Military upbringing, who was the son of one of Hitler’s generals. He knew how the Communist armies were organized. He knew they had very centralized command and would have one base where they kept all their plans.
He trained 500 African plantation workers to be soldiers and sent them into the jungle to find that one particular base. They found it and this one German with the 500 men he trained captured it. They found maps showing the locations of the 16 Simba Training camps and then and only then the German went to the CIA.
They gave him the Cuban pilots and the bombs and he sat in the co-pilot’s seat and guided the bombers to all 16 camps which were all destroyed. That was the end of the war in the Congo and it was largely won by a British mercenary soldier with experience in Malaysia and the son of one of Hitler’s generals.
The role of the American military in the Congo was largely to spend the American taxpayers’ money dropping bombs on empty jungle, a la Viet Nam.
I have met this old German soldier and asked him about the war. He is not the Steven Spileberg/Hollywood stereotype of the German soldier.
He has a black wife and children and mostly spends his time trying to raise money for schools in the Congo, a Nation that has been destroyed by International Khazar bankster organized crime.
The myth has been planted that King Leopold destroyed the Congo. This is not true. He never ever visited the Congo.He was broke. He handed the Congo over to concessionaires who turned the Congo into a slave state just like they have with every place they have done their usual scams & dishonest business.
Khazars & their relatives values on display. They will do the same to every country in the world if they have the power.
The Congo is the richest country in Africa but the people are the poorest. This wealth confiscation is justified by Khazar beliefs of superiority where they are entitled to rule the world,confisate all the assets on it and supposed to get 3,000 slaves.
CNN is Globalist-owned Fifth columnist propaganda network that works constantly and not only undermined Venezuela, but also is trying to undermine America. CNN is News for neocons less than 2% of the population, and is of no value whatsoever to anyone else.
A few notes on John Valk,
John may have been the world’s first Special Forces soldier in that he was a graduate of Holland’s army, airforce and navy Schools. He was multi disciplinary.
During the Congo war he was captured with a few hundred missionaries by the Simbas. He spoke Lingala and overheard the commanding officer order his troop to kill everyone except Greek Traders because the army needed the supplies the traders had stashed away.
Communists don’t like Christians. They killed them in Russia and they killed them in the Congo, too. Communism is at war with Christianity because communism has Khazar tribal roots, iand they also hate Judaism.
John threw away his passport, and when asked who he was he said he was a Greek trader.
All the Christian missionaries with him were shot and then he told his captors that his storehouse was at a village a long ways away.
John directed his captors through a section of very thick jungle and in the thickest place he leaped out of the back of the Jeep and escaped.
He then hid in the jungle for three months. He had previously stashed away a rifle accurately predicting that what did happen might happen. He ate baboons.
One time he got shot down in an aircraft over the Congo River. He was the Pilot. He kept the retractable wheels retracted and landed the plane on the river like the pilot in New York did recently. He then grabbed his briefcase and walked to the back of the plane and opened the door.
The plane was sinking but just before it did John saw a dugout canoe coming and flagged it down. Then he stepped into the canoe with his briefcase none the worse for wear. These stories are just the tip of the ice berg. John was a remarkable man who led a remarkable life.
He told me he “used” to work for the CIA but he may have worked for them until the end of his life. I don’t know. I do know he kept tracks of the movements of Joseph Coney and he always knew exactly where the Lord’s Resistance Army was located, when they moved through the Congo.
John’s wife and 11 children were Azande, the major tribe in that area, and the LRA could not pass through the eastern Congo without someone knowing about it and telling John.
He died last year as a result of a motorcycle accident he had on a foot path 300 miles into the Congo jungle. He was in his 80s and ran a school in Isiro.
I stumbled across this item on Veterans Today.
Duff plays last and loose with the truth sometimes, so I don’t know how real this is. But if it’s even 50% real, then heaven help us all!
So you think Nixon saved us in Nam? Wrong…he said he had a secret plan to end the war during the 1968 campaign. Sorry, no plan.
The war went on for 4 more years. We lost another 20,000 US lives not to mention the tens of thousands of Vietnamese and the further pumping of Agent Orange. As a draftee I was there in 1968.
Hoped Bobby Kennedy would be president to stop the damn war. The War mongers ended that.
LBJ has a peace process ready to succeed in Oct 1968. Nixon blew it up by promising NV a better deal. Logan Act treason.
Nixon’s humiliating resignation should have come earlier.
