WARMING UP! 38°F 7:00 AM Hey hey Giovanni here. A chilly start to the day after that weekend storm dropped nearly 12" of snow along the Sierra crest. Does this signal the start to something even bigger? We will see. Today looks warmer and dry with a slight breeze as that Low clears south. Expect today's daytime highs in the low 60s with overnight lows in the low 40s.

High pressure offshore rebuilds this week bringing us another week of mostly dry spring weather. Meteorological spring began yesterday which signals the beginning of the end of winter. That doesn't mean we won't see any more storminess this month. Chances are March will be wetter than February 2020 as forecast models look to shift our weather to a more stormy pattern. Late in the week a cold front is expected to open the storm door and bring us a chance of rain through Sunday. This doesn't look like a potent storm, but any rain and Sierra snow is a good thing.

The long range forecast models are still wanting to bring us a good chance of rain and Sierra snow starting this weekend with the possibility of more potent follow up winter storms. Confidence is high in this pattern change, just very little confidence in the details. I'll have details as they come available.
