#TodayInHistory: October 12, 1886 – Jose Rizal sent his brother Paciano a Tagalog translation of Wilhelm Tell, it was about a folk hero and expert marksman who assassinated the tyrannical Gessler. In the same letter, Jose wrote about his wish to introduce a slight modification of the Tagalog orthography and shared how much it would cost to print Noli Me Tangere (Touch me Not).
