#TodayInHistory: February 24, 1888 - General Vicente Lim was born in Calamba, Laguna. He was a World War II general, a Bataan hero and the first Filipino to graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point (class of 1914). He served as brigadier general and became the top–ranking Filipino under General Douglas MacArthur. He was tasked with the defense of Southern Luzon when the Philippine Army was incorporated into the American Forces on July 16, 1941.
