Those who put together the next GOP primary debate. At least 24 of the vacuous events have been or will be held this early election season. They amount to an army of candidates saying very little about questions that are too narrowly focused; therefore the shows are merely scripted gimcrackery for people who spend too much time watching TV. Issues are not really discussed. No worthwhile office seeker can (or should be forced to) express himself in 60 second bites. Hit the road, candidates; take your questions from real people. As for TV, it’s best when turned off.
