Those who are paid to convince Americans that the war in Afghanistan is progressing favorably. In one honest rundown, the Washington Post reports that last year 581 suspected terrorists were killed during 118 drone (unmanned aircraft) strikes. And only two of the victims were leaders. The cost of drone strikes was at least $120, suggesting that U.S. taxpayers forfeited $206,000 for each dead, ragamuffin rifleman. The per-capita sum represents five years income for the average American working stiff. Is it worth stiff, folks?
