There will never be another actor like the legendary, to put it mildly, Charlton Heston.
Therefore, the idea, the thought of a Ben-Hur remake is quite laughable.
If you have not experienced it, or do not know it, than plunk down some funds, buy it and be amazed, and know it can never have an equal and deserves no imitator.
I firmly believe this project is doomed, just like the thoughtlessly proposed ideas of remaking Dirty Dancing and Gone with the Wind.
No actors of the past 3 decades could ever measure up, nor do they deserve a chance.
It is why those ideas are stuck in development hell, the question who's gonna play that? endlessly repeated and forever unanswered.
Such is the doom of this proposal.
I love The Bible, AD, and the Dovekeepers, but this is a very bad idea. If your children do not know it than show it to them. It is magnificent, timeless, and unparalleled brilliance.
Please reconsider this idea. I speak on behalf of my mother, a die hard forever Charlton Heston fan. You will make much money from those too lazy to watch the original, if it ever is produced in first place, which I doubt.
But the respect and appreciation you get from fans like my mother will be worth far more.
