The truth of Jalianwala Bagh: On April 13 1919 the Sikhs who were massacred in Jalianwala Bagh in Amritsar were Dalits. Contrary to popular perception they had gathered there to discuss issues of caste discrimination, especially restrictions on their entry to the Golden Temple, and not for independence from colonial rule. General Dyer, who ordered the massacre, was later felicitated by the higher caste Sikhs. Dyer was eventually assassinated by Shaheed Udham Singh, a Dalit Sikh himself. This is what is missing from our brahmanical history textbooks.
