The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says waves reaching up to three meters are possible along some coasts of Papua New Guinea following a 7.9 earthquake. New Zealand officials initially issued a tsunami warning, but canceled it after experts determined there was no threat to the country's coast. The PTWC says there's no threat to Hawaii, and Australian officials say there is no threat to their coasts. We haven't seen any immediate reports of damage after the quake that struck east of Papua New Guinea, 103.2 km (about 64 miles) deep. -
