@Telethon7 - I have many favourite Telethon moments. One being the atmosphere of the entire weekend, whether you were at the PCEC, PMH, the Phone Rooms, Kids Carnival or even just sitting at home watching it on the TV - just being able to experience the excitement, joy, love, passion and care that everyone has and puts into this event – it is amazing and magical all at once! Another would be seeing the stars, not in the ‘hype and fame’ way but in the way that they reveal I guess their true down to earth personalities, which you often don’t get to see. Knowing they could have been anywhere else that weekend but they chose to fly to Perth and spend quality time with the kids, their families, fans etc and help out whether it was encouraging everyone to donate or just being a listening ear – that in its self speaks millions of them. One that really sticks out in my mind is listening to Dr Fiona Stanley speak – the passion and conviction that is behind everything she says and does is truly amazing and beautiful, what an incredible role model! Last but not least would be seeing the kids faces and hearing the many remarkable stories about them, stories of strength, hardship and courage and their amazing outlooks on life. We have so much to learn from them. Telethon 2011 was truly incredible and I am so proud of everyone involved!
