Sreya Singhal, a 5th generation lawyer in the family (still studying law), who challenged the Sec 66A of the IT Act, and which the SC scrapped as unconstitutional, has unleased an air of freedom & relief in the social world.
She however cautions against taking this as a free pass for posting hate speech or defamatory comments. "There are other provisions in the IT Act, and also in the IPC that deal with unlawful content," says the law student.
