That’s what the young, the foolish, the naïve, the clueless, and the pseudo intellectuals claimed. They claimed it didn’t matter who was elected. But as Malcolm X might have put it, “the chickens are now coming home to roost.”
Already, Americans see Trump bringing outright racists into his cabinet, people who have no love for Blacks or any other group, including many Whites.
For their part, African Americans can be incredibly susceptable to fake news stories or disinformation due to our hypersensitivity to racism. As a result, Blacks acted against their best political interests by either staying home, voting for Trump, or voting for a third-party candidate. That’s about as politically dumb as you can get.
What’s done is done, and the nation will have to deal with Trump.
But for future elections at the local, state and national level, rule number one is, if you do vote, you’ll get the government you want. If you don’t vote, you’ll get the government someone else wants, and that will be the government you deserve.
