SUNNY TODAY BUT SNOW TOMORROW! 32°F 6:30 AM Hey hey Giovanni here. A break in the weather today as we embrace the quiet before the storm. Clouds will be on the increase as the strongest storm we've seen since December arrives late tonight. Expect today's daytime highs in the mid 40s with overnight lows in the mid 30s.

The forecast looks good as the wettest and coldest storm we've seen all January is expected to arrive overnight into Thursday, bringing gusty winds, lots of rain and heavy snow to the Sierra. Snow levels may drop to 2000ft, bringing us a good possibility of seeing 3-4" of snow in GV/NC and even a light dusting as low as 2000ft. The upper foothills will see more, perhaps up to 8" with the Sierra at Pass level receiving up to 2ft of snow.

You should seriously consider staying home once the snow arrives if you're not confident driving in snow. Others will appreciate your sacrifice. Expect long travel delays into the Sierra as white out conditions are expected. This storm will begin to clear out on Friday morning, with a chance of snow flurries at 2500ft through mid day. The weekend may bring us a weak follow up storm with sunny weather expected Sunday and Monday.

The long range forecast looks to bring us another storm or two next week, but it's still to soon to know their expected impact.
