SHOWERS! 47°F 10:30 AM Hey hey Giovanni here. Now that's what we needed! So far we received 2.57" of rain as this very typical Pacific winter storm slammed into the Sierra with heavy rain and Sierra cement above 7000ft. Some resorts are reporting up to 2ft of new snow with lighter dryer falling today as snow levels have dropped to 5500ft behind the cold front, impacting travel into the Sierra. Carry chains or drive an AWD vehicle and expect delays. Showers are likely with the potential for a valley t'storm to reach us. Rain amounts will be highly variable as showers will continue to be hit and miss before clearing arrives tonight Expect today's daytime highs in the mid 50s and overnight lows in the mid 40s.

The next few days will be dry as a weak ridge keeps the bulk of the moisture to our north. There's a growing chance of rain late in the week as another stormy wet weather pattern possibly develops. More on that soon.

The long range forecast has once again flipped and is now looking stormy again after a few dry days, but no significant storms are on the horizon, it's a developing pattern at this time which may persist through Christmas.
