SHOWERS! 46°F 7:30 AM Hey hey Giovanni here. A not so impressive storm is bringing a chance of showers and Sierra snow above 6000ft as the bulk of the moisture impacts areas to our south for the most part. Rain totals will be minimal (0.10") with only 2-4" of snow along the I80. This system is not expected to prompt chain controls, but always drive with caution. Expect today's daytime highs in the mid 50s and overnight lows in low 40s.

Thursday looks to start out dry and mostly sunny before a stronger storm arrives Thursday night into Friday morning and lasting through at least Saturday as it taps into an atmospheric river. Snow levels look to start out above 6000ft and then rise with several feet of snow expected at resort level. For us it means lots of rain, maybe 2-3" with greater amounts in the outlying areas. Clearing arrives Monday into Tuesday, which may be the start of an extended dry period.

The long range forecast looks to bring us an extended break next week. I do see some flip flopping late next week in the forecast models which may signal the return of stormy weather for the 3rd week of December. More on that soon.
