TODAY'S FORECAST

RAIN IS ON THE WAY! 46°F 6:00AM Hey hey Giovanni here. Radar is lighting up along the north coastal range as the first of several waves of rain push inland this week. Clouds will soon thicken from a high cirrus deck to mid to low level clouds as a cold front generates precipitation over NorCal. Rain will be mostly light to moderate today and slow to start with just under 1" of rain. Winds will peak around 20 mph with the rain this afternoon with snow levels mostly above 6000ft. Today's temps may reach the mid 50s with overnight lows in the low 40s.

A stronger storm arrives Tuesday. Expect gusty winds, moderate to heavy rain at times and maybe up to 2" of rain and 2 feet of snow above 7000ft, with snow levels dropping to 4500ft on Wednesday as the final wave of moisture comes ashore. Rainfall totals may exceed 3" by Thursday as these spring storms tend to generate lots of instability showers and t'storms behind the cold front. Both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon look like the Sacramento Valley may see lots of exciting weather. Showers will come to an end by Thursday evening with sunny and warmer weather Friday-Sunday. Another chance of rain may pester us next Monday, but it's way too soon and chaotic to get excited about anything that far out.

I'm sticking with the long range forecast staying dry through the first week of April, but rain chances keep popping up the second week. Anything is possible in spring. We will see. Have a marvelous Monday!
