RAIN AND SIERRA SNOW ON THE WAY! 45°F 6:00AM Hey hey Giovanni here. A quiet morning as a strong storm winds up offshore. Expect rain to develop by around noon with gusty 15-20 mph winds at times. We may receive up to 1" of rain as waves of moderate to heavy to rain continues through this evening. The northern valley may see a t'storm or two, hopefully nothing as strong as what Chico saw earlier in the week. Snow levels will drop to around 6000ft with 3-8" of snow overnight above 7000ft. Today's temperatures will reach the low 50s with cool overnight lows in the low 40s.
Saturday will bring us another wave of moisture more showery in nature, with Sierra snow above 6000ft. Expect travel delays and chain restrictions over the Summit this weekend. It looks at this time that we may see a break in the rain on Sunday, but a westerly flow will bring us another round of showers Monday through Thursday afternoon as several weak impulses pass through our region and keep our weather unsettled through much of next week.
The long range forecast is flip flopping with a chance of rain well into April with no definitive breaks, None of these storms look particularly strong and may only impact the northern Sierra late in the month. Have a fantastic Friday!
