Problem with unwanted DM's from @socialoomph.

We use, or used to anyway, @socialoomph to send out a single message when someone followed us. Over the last few days this message has been sent, sometimes numerous times, to our followers. We first removed the message but it still was sent out. We then tried to delete our @socialoomph account with no luck and the DM's are still being sent.

We realize that this is annoying to our followers and also troubling for us. This is what to do if you get as pissed as we have been over the last couple of days.

A significant portion of the auto-DMs are sent out via SocialOomph, simply because they are one of the popular Twitter tools. Fortunately SocialOomph has made it easy to stop these unwanted direct messages.

There’s a simple process to follow with @optmeout:
Follow @optmeout
Wait for them to follow you back
Send @optmeout a DM
Unfollow @optmeout
