PIRLS Assessment: As part of KHDA approach in maintaining high standards, ALL schools in Dubai participated in PIRLS & ePIRLS 2016.Students of Grade 4B and 4C appeared for PIRLS (Progress in International Reading Literacy Study).
It is an assessment of reading comprehension that monitors trends in student achievement at five-year intervals since 2001. PIRLS represents the worldwide standard for reading comprehension at the fourth grade level.
Dubai is participating in this study for the second time, which will provide valuable data on how reading skills have improved over the past five years and will enable us to benchmark performances to world standards and compare the prevalent reading comprehension skills with more than 50 other participating countries.
