Okay so other than the odd vague tweet here and there, I don't comment on the drama that goes on within the Jonas fandom but I feel like something has to be said. I know that I'm wasting my time writing this out because only a few people will read it and nobody will go along with it, but it's good to get your feelings/thoughts out, right? It's good to have a rant and that's what I'm going to do now so brace yourselves!
I am sick and tired of seeing Joe's fans and Nick's fans going against each other, arguing and constantly being hypocritical. Joe is one person and Nick is another; even though they are brothers and it is a natural thing for people to compare them, they are different people with different lives. They are both adults and can do whatever the hell they want, and it's not up to their fans to decide what they should and shouldn't do for them. They're big boys now, they can handle life on their own! Speaking of being big boys and having their own lives, it's no secret that they both have girlfriends at the moment. It's a fact that Joe is dating Blanda and has been for a good 19 or 20 months (aka, almost two years) while Nick is dating Olivia and has been for around 8 or 9 months. Obviously, Joe and Nick are dating their girlfriends for a reason and those reasons should not have to be explained to their fans. Blanda and Olivia are both beautiful, intelligent, talented women in their own right and they should not be pitted against each other like their boyfriends constantly are.
I understand that fans have their favourite ships, otp's, whatever you call them... I get that some people will love Joe and Blanda together and some people will love Nick and Olivia together. We're allowed to have an opinion, we're humans and it's a free country! I get that. But what I don't get is why some fans in the fandom feel the need to make their favourite couple better than someone else's. It's not a competition, nobody has to prove anything to anybody! Stop comparing Joe and Blanda's relationship to Nick and Olivia's relationship and vice versa because they're both completely different.
And along similar lines, can we stop showing ourselves and the rest of our fandom up by hating on our idol's girlfriends? I'm sure Joe and Nick don't appreciate you all hating on the people that they love. If you don't like someone, and I've said this before, keep your opinion to yourself. Don't send hateful tweets to that person or their fans, don't make them feel bad and be a disgraceful fan, simply keep your comments to yourself and get some respect. You don't have to like every girlfriend that Joe and Nick have, and in this case please keep your mouth shut. Just like you have your reasons for hating a person, someone else has their own reasons for loving a person and it's not mature to argue and try to make someone else think in the same way that you do. Agree to disagree and move the fuck on! It's not that hard.
The theme of this reallyyy long tweet is that the majority of Jonas fans are not little children and we really need to start acting our ages. We're not teeny-boppers, we shouldn't get jealous every time new pictures of our idol with their girlfriend come out to the point where we turn red and start spreading hate around. We should suck it up, be realistic and start acting like the adults that most of us in the fandom are. Personally I am a fan of Joe's happiness and Nick's happiness and I don't care what or who causes it. As long as they are happy and I see that their smiles are genuine then I'm all good and that's what it should be like for the rest of their fans. Support their happiness for goodness sake! You don't want to see them sad or mad, do you?!
Now I'm sure that this rant was all over the place and I frankly can't be bothered to read back through it because then I'll only change it to be more politically correct or whatever so it's going to stay as it is and when I post it, I'm going to cringe and hope for the best.
