NUCLEAR EMP ONLY WORKS AGAINST 1970's DEVICES AND THEN, BARELY.

Nuclear EMP got it's big boost into public perception from the 1970's cold war era movie "The Day After". Problem: after all the nuclear tests, there is not one shred of evidence that EMP from a nuclear weapon is a credible threat. Here's why.
Nuclear EMP takes place at a frequency of between 1 mhz and 10 mhz, depending upon where the bomb is detonated and how much mass is in close proximity to the bomb (ground burst, air burst, etc).
Because of this, the wavelength is very long. At 1 mhz, the wavelength is approximately 1,200 feet. And if the nuke is detonated away from the ground to create an EMP, that is approximately what the frequency will be. Why does that matter? Because in order to couple with anything electrically, that low of a frequency (this is at the lower middle of the AM radio band) whatever can couple with that frequency has to be very long. This is why AM radios have a very long wire wound antenna. If you take an AM radio apart, one of the parts will be a ferrite bar with wire wrapped around it. That will be the antenna. If you pull the wire off the ferrite bar, it will be very long. Usually well over 100 feet in a cheap radio, and in a good radio it will be 500 feet long or more. It has to be that way to be able to pick up such a low frequency.
What might get taken out by an EMP? How about the magnetic head in an 8 track player? That will have a long spool of wire in it, and in addition to that, there will be no protection circuit to take the electric surge away. Cassette players are probably less susceptible to damage because the heads are smaller even without a protective circuit. Usually an AM radio will have protective circuits, or parts that are resistant to damage.
Ok, so what about something modern, like an Iphone? What's the longest wire in an iphone? Probably a run on a circuit board, but we're talking six inches max. And guess what? Any modern digital device has amazing built in surge protection, to protect it from static shock. So if an EMP did happen, there's no way the puny wires in an Iphone would ever get enough of a surge from a nuclear EMP to kill it, if you want EMP to kill an Iphone you have to put it in the microwave and hit the popcorn button. The super high frequencies produced by a microwave oven will couple with the circuits perfectly and blow the protection out perceptibly instantly and then fry the phone in the same instant. This would also be true for a laptop, or practically any other modern electronic device.
If they decide to hoax it and say a specialized high frequency EMP device blew everything out, the range of such devices is FIVE HUNDRED YARDS MAX IF IT IS RAINING, AND IF THE AIR IS CLEAR, TWO MILES MAX. Remember the sentinels in the movie The Matrix? Remember how the rebellion had to wait until the sentinels got close before setting off the EMP? That is precisely how high frequency EMP works, if they hoax it that way be aware of that too!
FACT: NUCLEAR EMP HAS NEVER, DURING ALL THE TESTING, DONE MORE THAN TRIP A FEW NEARBY CIRCUIT BREAKERS, AND IN ONE CASE AN OLD ROTARY PHONE SWITCH THAT WAS HOOKED UP TO LONG PHONE LINES. OTHER THAN A FEW HARMLESS GROUND EFFECTS IN HAWAII AND THE SHORT WAVE BAND BEING SCRAMBLED FOR AN HOUR THERE IS NO RECORD OF MORE THAN THAT HAPPENING WHATSOEVER.
Forget about the movie The Day After, that was just a cold war hoax to scare the public. Nothing in that movie would actually happen the way they showed it.
Oh, but "nuclear EMP" will kill your late model car, your Iphone, your desktop computer, your laptop computer, and anything else that has either a clandestine or known about cellular connection, because when they fake their EMP, they will simply send the signal to disable or destroy all devices via the cell phone network, cut the power, and EVERYONE WILL BELIEVE because they bought the nuclear EMP bullshit, bullshit which is not supported in any way by history, or with any electronic calculation. If your "engineer friend" believes it, either he never put a pencil to paper or is a paper trained field useless idiot.
Cash for Clunkers anyone? Can't have two million computer controlled perfect condition cars added to the rest that won't quit after an EMP, CAN YOU? When only cars after a certain model year stop, despite the older ones still being all electronic running, it is going to make it awful damn obvious that nuclear EMP is not what shut the newer ones down.
Kim Jong CANNOT do an EMP. Even though he probably has a sub that can get to the U.S, and that sub probably can launch a ballistic missile, it can't launch a NUCLEAR ballistic missile for Kim Jong because he does not have a miniaturized nuke to put on it. And even if he did, the EMP would be useless unless you use an antiquated device to listen to Johnny Cash. BEWARE OF THE PENTAGON HOSTED FALSE FLAG, You can bet they are drooling over it.
Out of ALL the nuclear tests, please find ONE EXAMPLE, JUST ONE, where anything of the sort they talk about happened. Not even Starfish Prime did anything of consequence, the EMP scam is obvious!
EMP rule of thumb: If you are alive to drive a car or make a call, you were far enough away from the bomb for everything to still work.
