Muslim Reservation-This is a ploy to get political mileage. Agreed, There are serious challenges, but they should not be a part of the Vote Bank politics.
Discrimination against Muslims is pushing them to lower rungs. Therefore, the first step should be to improve their political representation.
For this, the starting point should be to get clause (3), Constitution(SCs) Order, 1950, abolished.
Muslims should not be treated like a homogenous group. OBCs & Dalits among Muslims are the worst sufferers, while they constitute 85% of Muslim population. These are weavers, craftsmen, petty traders, farmers & landless laborers. They come under the ambit of OBC reservation.
Hence all the hue and cry is for the remaining 15% of the Muslims, who are better off than the ones who are getting the reservation under OBC category.
SP may get the sound bites....but....Reservation to all Muslims is not possible....And you don't have the votes to sail it through Parliament.
Focus on the "Rozi-Roti" issues not on mobilization issues to get Muslim votes.
