Life coaches. And for that matter, dating coaches, personal coaches, conflict coaches, religious coaches, ad nauseam. These are the commercial charlatans who, for a stiff fee, give people information that is entirely rooted in common sense and is readily available elsewhere for free. There are few things more absurd that a 50-year-old man being told how to improve himself by a 30-year-old man. And if the 30 year old actually had anything to offer, he would have a real job. Life can’t be laid out neatly; it’s trial and error, which translates into experience; don’t let anyone tell you there are formularized shortcuts.
