TODAY'S FORECAST

HEAVY RAIN TONIGHT! 51°F 6:30AM Hey hey Giovanni here. The showers have arrived well ahead of a deepening trough and associated cold front expected to arrive tonight. Light rain is expected for much of the day turning heavy later this evening overnight into Thursday. Today's temperatures may reach the low 50s with overnight lows in the low 40s. The heaviest of the rain is expected to come to an end on Thursday. Heavy wet snow will be possible above 6500ft. Hikers and mountain travelers really need to come home if not prepared for winter conditions as this storm will bring "March like" temperatures and snow conditions to the Sierra. This trough will remain offshore pulling in a series of cold Lows through the weekend and into early next week keeping our weather unsettled with a chance of Sierra snow showers above 6000ft. Monday and Tuesday still look potentially wet, but a clearing trend looks likely by midweek. This may be the last chance for rain and Sierra snow. Enjoy what could be the last wet weather pattern of spring.

The long range forecast looks to dry out our rain chances by mid week next, but the Sierra may continue wet and stormy at times through the rest of May, Enjoy the rain an have a wonderful Wednesday.
