Gowri Kishore from New Millennium School Grade 4 student was adjudged the 1st place winner in the Poetry Presentation Competition (Qasidah Par Coeur) at the Emirates Airlines Festival of Literature, held on the 9th of March. She performed Roald Dahl’s The Crocodile, to pip 4 other contestants to the post (previously 65 participants in the ‘Young Stars’ category, before the number whittled down to the final 5).
She was mentored by Mrs. Tarannum Sheikh, Primary English Subject Leader.
During the course of the session, Gowri also met authors AF Harrold and Harry Baker who were on the panel of judges for this competition. She was also interviewed by the reporters of Khaleej Times for her spectacular achievement. The link from Khaleej Times is along with:
