GET ON BOARD THE RAIN TRAIN! 46°F 2:00PM Hey hey Giovanni here. Hello December and hello to renewed hope for a wet month! It's the holiday season so let's remember to be gentle and kind to those less fortunate than us out in this cold and wet weather not able to escape it during the day. Thank you.
Let's now celebrate as It's safe to say the fire season has come to an end. With so much rain and snow that has fallen in the last 7 days and with so much more on the way, we can finally let our guard down and enjoy the holidays. Rain will continue through tonight with rising snow levels as an atmospheric river takes aim at the Sierra. We may see 1-2" of additional rain overnight as this broad band of moisture shifts east. Snow levels are currently above 6000ft but will rise as the colder air gets scoured out tonight. Expect today's daytime highs in the mid upper 40s and overnight lows in low to mid 40s.

Looks like rain will be with us right through next weekend to some degree as a trough offshore will continue to generate storminess. We may see a break on Tuesday/Wednesday with just a few showers and partly cloudy skies. A stronger storm looks to develop in the Pacific for Thursday/Friday with showers through next weekend. Snow level details are still coming together. More on that soon.
The long range forecast wants to bring us more rain and Sierra snow with an eventual break possibly after next week.
