DRY AS CAN BE! 43°F 7:15 AM Hey hey Giovanni here. "Another abnormally dry winter day is here" I'm reusing that intro today as our weather remains the same. Expect today's daytime highs in the mid 60s with overnight lows in the low to mid 40s.
High pressure offshore will once again bring us dry and warm weather as daytime highs reach for the low 70s midweek here in GV/NC as the last days of February come and go. There's little hope this weather pattern is expected to shift this week. The coming weekend does look a bit wet as a few showers and Sierra snow develop Saturday evening into Sunday as a weak inside slider drops along the Sierra crest. Snow above 6000ft may impact travel on Sunday morning, but rain and snow amounts look to remain on the light side.
The long range forecast is still teasing us with the return of rain and Sierra snow by the end of the first week of March, but time is not on our side as whatever shift does occur, doesn't mean it's going to bring heavy rain or snow. It's not looking good. Keep vigilant as the risk for fire danger grows in this very dry air mass. Keep hope alive for rain and Sierra snow!
