A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS! 45°F 6:00AM Hey hey Giovanni here. We missed out on the wet and wild weather to our north last night as a severe t'storm complex drenched Chico and the surrounding area with up to 5" of rain in some areas. No exciting weather like that today as NorCal will be in between storms. Today's temperature will reach the mid 50s with cool overnight lows in the mid 40s.
The forecast remains relatively unchanged as a weak storm is expected to arrive on Thursday, bringing periods of light rain and showers. A much stronger storm arrives Friday and is expected to continue into Saturday as a late season Atmospheric River event sets up to bring us the possibility for significant rainfall, with 1-3" of rain in town, and Sierra snow above 6500ft. Expect travel delays and chain restrictions over the Summit this weekend. A westerly flow will keep a chance of showers in the forecast through Monday afternoon. High pressure will chase the storm track north, bringing dry warmer weather Tuesday, and through the rest of the week.
The long range forecast still wants to dry us out and warm us up the second week of April, but another chance of rain looks possible around the 13th. Still too soon for any certainty, it may flip dry again. Have a mellow Wednesday!
