environment concerns. a former IIT Director cut trees in campus illegaly...punish the guilt
@prakashjavdekar @pmoindia@narendramodi #Modi #environment.. I would like to draw your kind attention to the environment concerns of the country in general and city specifically and request to take concrete steps to protect the environment through awareness, plantation and by punishing the guilty.
Delhi has only 10.2% forest cover left even though Forests Act says 30% is minimum.”. This has led to severe air pollution in the city.
Few years back a Director ( Dr. Surendra Prasad) of IIT Delhi has ordered cutting of mass green trees in the IIT Delhi campus illegally. A case was registered against him, but was left half way due to nexus between bureacracy and politicians of that time.
It is therefore requested that the case may kindly be reexamined and the guilty be brought to face the consequences such measures will go a long way in sending a clear message against the illegal cutting of trees.
Recently the Delhi govt too has ordered cutting of the trees and the matter was taken to the High court.
Amicus curiae Kailash Vasdev told the Delhi High Court that “over 100,000 trees” were felled by the Public Works Department and Delhi Metro between 2006 and 2010 in the national capital and the Delhi government had not placed post-2009 data on tree felling and development projects in the public domain.
Further an estimated 10,500 deaths, directly related to bronchial and cardiovascular diseases, were occurring every year in the capital. The data was obtained through Vallabh bhai chest institute in Delhi.
>
> A strong initiative by the central environment ministry is therefore must to protect the health and environment amid a fast changing life style and all around development. The ministry must also look into the cases of illegal tree cutting.
@pmoindia @narendramodi @smritirani Recently a Director of NIT was given one more additional charge of an institute...already he has the charges of two other institutes of prominence . Whixh means he is in charge of 3 institutes simultaneously.THE QUESTION IS WHAT POLICY AND GUIDELINES THE MHRD IS ADOPTING WHILE GIVING ADDITIONAL CHARGES TO PEOPLE WHO ALSO HAVE INQUIRY CASES PENDING AGAINT THEM.
ALL THE SAME THERE ARE SOME GOOD PROFESSORS WITH HIGHEST CREDENTIALS ACADEMICALLY AND INTEGRITY VISE HAVE TO BID THEIR TIME ALMOST UNDECORATED AND UNRECOGNISED.
@nitin_gadkari, @pmoindia, @incredibleindia..NH3 a shame dor road transport::Recently i travelled all the way from Delhi to Indore in my own car..while it was a pleasant journey from delhi to gwalior, unfortunately i took the NH3 from gwalior to Indore via shivpuri..guna..shajapur..byavra..
> I must say that if someone wants to see how our ancestors might have travelled than one must go through this road.( construction was seen between Gwalior to shivpuri).
Its a single track road with heavy traffic on both sides of loaded trucks.
Than there are big pot holes all over the stretch with no relief in between.
And finally weak bridges with traffic on hold from one side till the other side passes makez the exp. more wierd.
I would therefore request the hon"ble minister to take the NH3 patch on an urgent basis..it connects delhi to indore and up to mumbai. It is a very important highway and seeing the state of the road i was ashamed to say the least.
Therefore it is requested that the project may be considered on an urgent basis.
Is it fair to judge the Modi govt on a scale of 7/10.
@narendramodi @pmoindia .As the Modi govt celeberated its one year of good governance i checked all the papers and reports for the feedback.
A new trend has emerged with many of the media evaluating the govt on a scale of 10..anything less than 6 or 5 is fail, 7..8 is pass and ahove 8 is distinction..and so the Modi govt got an average of 7 by some leading newspapers.
This is like the TWO minutes maggi noodles. But governance is not all about fast junk food. Unfortunately with all the media publicity and brochures the BJP too cannot manage a good analysis and publication of what it has so well performed.
Coming back to the rating style of media, what does it mean..Had it been 6 it would have been poor and had it been 8 it would have been excellent.
Which means all the positives and negatives of the govt is absorbed with a rating of 7. Are the ratings so perfect...what does it tell anyway..?
There are many projects and policies launched..each of them have a certain weightage in terms of its importance and impact factor to the country. Further depending upon the sector the seriousness can be different.
For example a good policy in defense sector is different from one in bank accounts for the poor. So how does that be taken into consideration.
Therefore the whole exercise of evaluating the govt on a scale of 10 is a cheap exercise to keep readers and television watchers glued.
Nothing else..its a chewing gum given to people to pass time and entertain. There is no seriousness in the game.
It would have been better if the policies were evaluated independently . Given weightage and than clubbed with others to arrive at a consolidated average.
To cut short it ought to be a good mathematical and research exercise.
Therefore let us not give much importance to what the Modi govt got a 7/10 rating.
Its a junk number that does not have any value or importance.Hope the media and analysysts will come out with better analysis on the eve of second year of governance which will be a better parameter of how the govt is performing.
Until than let us keep the 7/10 ratings aside and work together to make the country grow and develop economically and strategically.
HOPEFULLY THE PARTY WILL ALSO MANAGE ITS MEDIA AND PUBLICITY DIVISION WELL.
