PLEASE DON'T LET THEM STARVE US & LEAVE US ALONE TO DIE!
WE VOTE.SOME OF VOTE ABSENTEE BUT WE STILL VOTE and we have faithfully got out the vote for years!

There is much about the Trump administration's actions and decisions that could reasonably HARM THE ELDERLY AND THE YOUNG ones.
The latest block of information to digest has been the budget blueprint aimerd directly at the heart of those who need the nutrition programs the most.,

The proposed budget would kill Meals on Wheels.

The relevant Department of Housing and Urban Development section of the budget contains the following language:

The Federal Government has spent over $150 billion on this block grant since its inception in 1974, the program is well-targeted to the poorest populations and has demonstrated phenomenal results, providing meals & a concerned volunteer, the ONLY human interaction they may have during the entire day. Many of these elderly are no longer capable of preparing their own meals and are all alone with no friends or family. For them, the Meals on Wheels provide life-sustaining nutrition and a reassurance someone cares about them.

Meals on Wheels, a program that supports the delivery of meals to homebound seniors, many of whom are all alone, disabled and frightened, who cannot afford food or cannot prepare it, started in Australia and has been in the United States since 1954. The program serves 2.4 million seniors every year and does get funding from the Community Development Block Grant program.
THIS PROGRAM IS A GODSEND AS IT NOURISHES THE BODY AND THE SOUL TO AN ELDERLY PERSON WHO WOULD OTHERWISE SPEND ENDLESS DAYS IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT CONDITIONS, HUNGRY & ABANDONED.

The budget eliminates the Meals on Wheels program.

If its portions of block grants were eliminated, the program would disappear, and, the organization says that it already cannot keep up with growing demand from seniors who need help. In addition, Meals on Wheels passes funding down to 5,000 local groups that provide food, and they additionally might be affected by the funding cut.
CHILDREN AND EXPECTANT MOTHERS ALSO BENEFIT.
THE PROGRAM HERE INCLUDES ELDERLY OF ALL ETHNIC GROUPS AND THE VOLUNTEERS WHO DELIVER THE MEALS CHECK ON THEM.
THERE IS LOT OF LOVE AND PATIENCE AND RESPECT FOR THE ELDERLY.
Will there be consequences for the program IF THIS PROGRAM LOSES FEDERAL FUNDS (and others, obviously)? Of course.
